Mint Theater Company will continue its hybrid season of live performances at NY City Center along with the on-demand streaming of acclaimed previous productions. Beginning Monday November 7th (from 7pm) will be streaming of the three-camera archival recording (filmed in HD!) of The New Morality by Harold Chapin, directed by Mr. Bank.

Second Stage Theater’s Fall Gala celebration will honor Second Stage Board Chair Terry Lindsay and her husband, Bob Lindsay, Co-Founder and Chairman of Lindsay Goldberg. The gala event will take place on Monday, October 17, 2022. The event will feature Michael Urie, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brittney Mack and more.

Second Stage will offer simulcasts of its upcoming Broadway production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton, for the final two weeks of its run, January 31 – February 12, 2023, allowing theater fans who aren’t able to attend in person the opportunity to witness a live Broadway performance from home.

Michael R. Jackson's WHITE GIRL IN DANGER will begin previews on March 15, 2023 and will officially open on April 10, 2023 at Second Stage’s Off-Broadway home, the Tony Kiser Theater. The limited 8-week run will play through Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Second Stage Theater has announced casting for the Broadway debut production of Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton. The production will star Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colon and more.

The Shubert Organization, Inc. has announced that on Monday, September 12, the Cort Theatre will be officially renamed the James Earl Jones Theatre in honor of the iconic multi-award-winning American actor.

Second Stage Theater will kick off its 44th Season with the New York Premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL, directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER. The production will feature SAWYER BARTH and LILY McINERNY, both of whom will be making their off-Broadway stage debuts.

Tony Award-nominee Bess Wohl will return to the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street) this Fall with the New York premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED. Spring 2023 will see the Broadway premiere of Larissa FastHorse's THE THANKSGIVING PLAY,

On Monday, June 6th, Second Stage Theater will host the Fair Chance Job Fair. Fair Chance Hiring means that employers refrain from including questions about conviction history in the application process before a job offer is made. 

Second Stage Theater has announced casting for the upcoming world premiere production of 53% OF. The production will feature ANNA CRIVELLI, EDEN MALYN, MARIANNA McCLELLAN, GRACE REX, CATHRYN WAKE, and AYANA WORKMAN.

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine's Great Music in a Great Space concert series presents a performance by Organ Scholar Samuel Kuffuor-Afriyie, Minster of Music at The Brick Presbyterian Church Raymond Nagem, violinist Monica Davis, and Ensemble 1047 Dance Collective—featuring Chase Buntrock, Runako Campbell, Mio Ishikawa, and Kevin Pajarillaga—on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street).

TFANA will present Alice Childress’s Wedding Band. Director Awoye Timpo’s new staging, running April 23–May 15, brings Childress’s masterpiece to New York audiences for the first time since 1972, when it made its New York premiere in a production directed by Childress and Joseph Papp.

Titanic the Musical opened on Broadway in April of 1997. The musical tells the story of the maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic, or what would soon be aptly named “The Unsinkable Ship.” However, as history tells us the ship sank on its maiden voyage on April 15, 1912. The 1997 Broadway production won five Tony Awards including Best Musical and was directed by Richard Jones. Following the opening of its Broadway run, Titanic was adapted for film and released the same year in 1997 by James Cameron starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Both of which the musical and film have no correlation to the other. Maury Yeston who was a Broadway composer and lyricist for Nine was inspired by the discovery of the wreckage of the Titanic off the coast of Newfoundland in 1985. Yeston said he was inspired by all the ship represented. So Yeston met with Peter Stone who wrote the libretto and Titanic the Musical was born. Of the five Tony’s that Titanic went onto win among them were Best Score, Best Book, Best Orchestrations, Best Scenic Design as well as Best Musical mentioned above. Previews started in 1997 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and received mixed but positive reviews. After 804 performances, Titanic the Musical closed in March of 1999. Boasting a whopping 20 musical numbers in Act One and 12 in Act Two this behemoth of a musical is grand in design, and song. This musical also features a cast of 37 some doubling multiple roles. Proving to be a huge undertaking for amateur productions and professionals alike.

The Shubert Organization, Inc., will rename the 110-year-old Cort Theatre to the James Earl Jones Theatre, in recognition of Mr. Jones’s lifetime  of immense contributions to Broadway and the entire artistic community.
