HBO is developing a comedy series with Jason Kim and Greta Lee about Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood, according to Variety.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Sister Act on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through Sunday, January 6, 2019.  Previews will be on Wednesday, November 14 and Thursday, November 15, 2018. With music by Alan Menken, book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, lyrics by Glenn Slater and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, this uplifting musical comedy is based on the hit 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg.

Flying in the face of industry trends and declining PUT levels, Comedy Central completed its fiscal year as one of only three Top 20 cable networks to grow or maintain year-over-year ratings levels. The #1 brand in comedy, which finished the year strong with a +3% increase in primetime among Adults 18-49 for the recently-completed quarter, ended the fiscal year with a 0.185 rating in total day among the key demographic, precisely flat to the 0.185 A18-49 rating for its prior fiscal year.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) presents a new play workshop of Lia Romeo's The Forest, a touching new dark comedy about a mother and daughter who experience extreme change in their lives. Romeo will collaborate with FST's Artistic staff on furthering the work from October 22-26, culminating in a staged reading of the play on Friday, October 26 at 3 PM in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre. This event is presented as part of FST's expanding New Play Development program, and is free and open to the public, however, reservations are required. Comedy Central today launched the Animated Shorts Program, a new development initiative designed for creators to submit short form animated ideas directly to Comedy Central and provide them with the potential to sign a development deal with the #1 brand in comedy, it was announced today by Sarah Babineau and Jonas Larsen, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of Talent and Development, Comedy Central.

Joe Kinosian, the original star and co-creator of the Off-Broadway sensation Murder for Two will lead the Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) cast of the musical-comedy whodunit October 17 - November 11 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre at Liberty Hall, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Art House Productions announces its full schedule of arts programming from September 2018 until June 2019.  Beginning in September, Art House presents its first Artist-in-Residence: Raven Taisce White. Raven is a trans woman from South Carolina and her company, BIRDHOUSE perform a reimagining of their piece Hot Winter. Hot Winter follows five humans as they struggle to understand one another, unifying in difference and falling apart in sameness and is a surrealistic look at the performers' collective universe.

Rehearsals have begun for the world premiere of "Quack" by Eliza Clark. Directed by Center Theatre Group Associate Artistic Director Neel Keller, the production will begin previews October 21, open October 28 and continue through November 18, 2018, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

City Opera Vancouver presents the astonishing and macabre operatic thriller, Nigredo Hotel, on September 20 - 22, 2018 at 8pm at The Cultch Historic Theatre. It's just been revealed that the new musical comedy Beetlejuice will open on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) in April 2019. Beetlejuice will begin Broadway previews in March 2019.

Sony Pictures Animation and Nelvana have announced the second-season renewal of the hit animated comedy Hotel Transylvania: The Series. Disney Channel in the U.S. and their global territories, and TELETOON Canada, a network owned by Nelvana parent company Corus Entertainment, are set to broadcast the new episodes.  

“Dancing with the Stars” is waltzing its way into its upcoming season, and the new celebrity cast is adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the season kicks off MONDAY, SEPT. 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand. Organizers of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival (Today, September 12 – Saturday, September 22, 2018) announced the seventh annual festival's entire lineup and invited Rochester to “Join the pARTy” at their BIG REVEAL press conference yesterday. For the first time, Rochester's Fringe will span 11 days, up from 10 for the past five years.

Today, Multi-instrumentalist and composer Theodore premiered his third single 'Disorientation' and announced the release date for his cascading LP Inner Dynamics on NPR's All Songs Considered. Where his previous album It Is But It's Not attempted to explore the interaction of opposing elements in the universe, Inner Dynamics finds Theodore looking inward to examine the dualities of his own identity in search of new creative potential. The album 'Disorientation” begins with mystifying whispers, and a pulsating bass until Theodore's heavy-hearted voice brings in dream-induced dramatism. Inner Dynamics features production by Vagelis Moschos and is set to be released on November 2.
