Kimmel Center Unveils New Critically-Acclaimed Lineup Details For PIFA 2018!

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts' management announced its 2018 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) lineup Friday afternoon during an event at the Kimmel Center's Hamilton Garden. With over 50 performances ranging from music and dance to 360-degree immersive spectacle experiences, the 2018 festival raises the proverbial PIFA bar, showcasing critically-acclaimed work that has captivated critics and garnered awards nationally and internationally. Known for its engaging performances curated by The Kimmel Center from around the globe, the festival was first developed in 2011 drawing increasing audiences locally and attracting regional visitors seeking out the ultimate Philly experience. The 2018 festival runs Thursday, May 31 through Sunday, June 10.

The NNPN World Premiere of DOUBLEWIDE Rolls Through Vermont Stage

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, celebrates the continuation of the Rolling World Premiere Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood at Vermont Stage. The play will receive a total of four distinct NNPN RWP productions, rolling through Member Theaters Florida Repertory Theatre (Fort Myers; September 22-October 29, 2017), Florida Studio Theatre (Sarasota; August 2-20, 2017), Vermont Stage (Burlington; January 24-February 11), and Williamston Theatre (MI; January 27-Feburary 18, 2018). Doublewide is NNPN's 66th Rolling World Premiere.

The Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA, a celebration of performance art presented as part of the Getty-led initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, will run from January 11 through 21, 2018. Organized by REDCAT, CalArts' Center for Contemporary Arts, in collaboration with partner organizations throughout the city, the 11-day festival will feature more than 75 works by Latin American and Latino artists, performed at more than 20 indoor and outdoor spaces throughout greater Los Angeles. Supported by a major grant from the Getty Foundation, events will range from large-scale, site-specific performances to multi-artist evenings and will be presented in parks, plazas, galleries, theaters, and busy urban settings.

Boston Calling, one of the city's most iconic events and one of the world's largest metropolitan music festivals, announces its 2018 lineup today. The internationally acclaimed and locally grown music festival returns for its ninth edition and will take place for the second consecutive year at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston (65 North Harvard Street, Boston) on Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 - 27, 2018. Headlined by Eminem, The Killers, and Jack White, Boston Calling 2018 will deliver over 54 performances from musicians, bands, and comedians across its three stages and the festival's indoor arena. Adding to the excitement, Academy Award-winning actress, producer and director Natalie Portman is confirmed to curate and host a series of special programming at this year's festival.
