RED BULL THEATER has announced the cast for the next offering of a new season of in-person OBIE Award-winning Revelation Readings, The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster, directed by Jesse Berger.  Kelley Curran will tackle the titular role.

Jonelle Procope, President and CEO of the Apollo, after two decades of leading the iconic cultural and civic non-profit dedicated to providing a platform for Black creativity, will step down on June 30, 2023.

Mark Morris and Ethan Iverson join creative forces for the world premiere of The Look of Love: An Evening of Dance to the Music of Burt Bacharach October 20, 2022 at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage. The Mark Morris Dance Group (costumed in Isaac Mizrahi) will be accompanied by their MMDG Music Ensemble (led by Ethan) with lead vocals by Broadway star Marcy Harriell.  RED BULL THEATER has announced that Tony Award winner Santino Fontana will lead its all-star benefit performance of Your Own Thing, the 1968 hit Off-Broadway rock musical inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Live from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame opening of his new permanent exhibition on September 29, 2022, John Mellencamp confirmed a North American tour “Live and In Person 2023” set to kick off in February. Presented by longtime promoter AEG Presents and sponsored by Turner Classic Movies, the tour will see 76 shows across North America including a stop at DPAC on Saturday May 20, 2023.

The Huntington has announced the casting and creative team for the highly anticipated revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, directed by Lili-Anne Brown. Wilson’s masterpiece serves as the inaugural production of the newly renovated Huntington Theatre and runs from October 14 – November 13, 2022.

Director Sidney Lumet followed a string of Oscar®-winning 1970s classics with this lavish adaptation of the popular Broadway musical The Wiz, noted for its lively score and all-Black cast.  The Academy Museum’s first anniversary screening of The Wiz will feature live dance performances by the Debbie Allen Dance Studio youth performers.

CalArts Center for New Performance (CNP) kicks off its 20th anniversary season on Thursday, September 29, 2022, with the world premiere of Scene with Cranes, written by acclaimed playwright Octavio Solis, directed by Chi-wang Yang. It will run from Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, 2022 at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) in downtown Los Angeles. 

San Diego Opera will present the world premiere of Gabriela Lena Frank's El último sueño de Frida y Diego (The Last Dream of Frida and Diego) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the San Diego Civic Theatre for four performances.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan, the first production of Paper Mill’s 2022-2023 season. The production will feature Linedy Genao (On Your Feet! on Broadway) as Gloria, and Brandon Espinoza (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants) as Emilio.
