Galerie Gmurzynska New York presents an exhibition of Louise Nevelson's iconic monochromatic wood assemblages alongside her rarely seen collages. These works will be on view at 39 East 78th Street, 3rd floor, from May 2nd to July 27, 2019. 

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. 59E59 Theaters announces the lineup of shows for the 2019 Summer Season at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Ticket prices range from $15 - $70 ($12 - $49 for 59E59 Members).

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) announced details of its 2019–2020 season—the Orchestra's 45th—including a season-wide celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in programs on its signature Chamber Music Series, orchestra concerts presented by Carnegie Hall, and free school concerts.

This season, Broadway welcomes a new production of William Shakespeare's King Lear, starring two-time Academy Award winner, two-time Emmy Award winner, and 2018 Tony Award winner Glenda Jackson.

When the first production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF opened on Broadway, many wondered how it would do post war and what people would think of the strong history of the Jewish people of Russia. It didn't take long to find out that the show was a hit amongst many theater goers and has made history itself as the history of the story takes us back to when things were very different. BWW was able to chat recently with Carol Beaugard who plays Yente the matchmaker as FIDDLER ON THE ROOF prepared to make a stop in San Antonio, Texas at the famous Majestic Theatre.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall this March for two back-to-back programs in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. In an all-Richard Strauss program on Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 p.m., music director and conductor Andris Nelsons and the BSO are joined by world-renowned soprano Renee Fleming for the closing scene in the composer's final opera, Capriccio, on a program also including the Sextet and Moonlight Music from that opera, as well as the tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra.

Meet Miss Baker has begun, with previews of The Price of Thomas Scott, directed by Mint Theater Artistic Director Jonathan Bank. Performances began January 24th and continue through March 23rd at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for February 20th.

In a concert inspired by adventure and Spanish exoticism, the Columbus Symphony will perform the Spanish Flamenco Festival at the newly renovated Palace Theatre on March 1 and 2. The auditorium of the 1926 historic venue received a six-month, $2.5 million facelift, and was reopened to the public in November 2018. Guest conducted by John Axelrod, musical director of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the program will feature local flamenco star Griset Damas and the Flamenco Company of Columbus. The full program includes Turina's Danzas fantasticas, Falla's La Vida Breve: Danse Espagnole No. 1, and concludes with the enchanting, rhythmic vitality of Dvo?ak's richly melodic New World Symphony (Symphony No. 9).

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's bold vision - top global choreographers, distinctive groundbreaking repertoire, and virtuoso dancers - has fostered a jewel of a dance company in the American West.  Now, ASFB celebrates the fourth year of its residency at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) with a program of works that celebrates the company's commitment to creating new contemporary dance on Saturday, January 19 at 8:00pm. Fiddler on the Roof is one of the most iconic and memorable shows in the musical theatre cannon, having originated on Broadway over 50 years ago and seen scores of revivals, and a feature length film, in the intervening years. The production currently playing at Rochester's Auditorium Theatre until December 16th is a rich and powerful experience, unlike any production of Fiddler you've ever seen before.

The press opening is Saturday, October 13.
