Dr. Ruth and her incredible life are at the center of Mark St. Germain's play Becoming Dr. Ruth, which opens tonight at The Museum of Jewish Heritage. BroadwayWorld spoke with Dr. Ruth about how it feels to watch her story be told on stage, her personal history and where her zest for life comes from, her advice to people today, and much more.

ACOCo’s 2022 season sees the award winning independent company roar back to live performance with seven shows all directed by women, including five Australian premieres,    and new presentation partnerships with The Wheeler Centre, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and, wait for it, the MCG (Yarra Park).

Surrounded by the modern design sensibilities of the Birdland Theater, Susan Mack spent a Sunday night taking the audience back in time. With a 16-song setlist comprised of jazz classics from the early-to-mid 20th century (with a few more modern songs up to the 1980s), Mack's 'Music in the Air' was meant to be a celebration of the impact of music as it surrounds us in our day-to-day lives. At one point joking that, with everything else that's been in the air of late, music is a good thing to be touched by, Mack interlaced the songs with some explanations and a few hints at her life behind the curtain.

With the slogan “Theatre In These Trying Times”, the 25th edition of the festival has set out to breathe fresh air into both the world of theatre and to theatre lovers with a programme of mostly new productions that look at the world, which is in search of a new normal, through the lens of theatre.

HARLEM DUET, now streaming from Coronado Playhouse is an apt name for this beautiful, and heartbreaking play.  In a “prequel” to Shakespeare’s OTHELLO, the play follows one couple in the 1860s, 1928, and in modern Harlem. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced their Spring season of digital offerings from April 1 to July 1, which is dedicated to the late Gustave M. Hauser.  CMS presents 28 digital programs, with concerts premiering on Thursday evenings at 7:30 and educational and hybrid talk-and-performance programs premiering on Monday evenings.

The Williamston Theatre Presents THE FIRE TOUR, a historic audio tour that details five fires that occurred in the Williamston business district in 1877, 1895, 1915, 1928, and 1938, and how those fires shaped the landscape of the town over the past 150 years. The tour allows the listener to walk through Williamston to each location and listen to the stories through eyewitness recollections and commentary from Williamston historian Mitch Lutzke. It features the voices of residents David Jones and Cloyce O'Dell, with narration by Emily Sutton-Smith.

A third evolution of the American classic AN AMERICAN IN PARIS took the stage at Yardley Hall inside the Carlsen Center at Johnson County (KS) Community College to an almost full audience of 1500 souls. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS has been reborn as an ambitious piece of modern musical theater. It first opened in Paris n 2014, then in New York, before journeying across the pond for engagements in London's west end. This particular production is the second iteration of a road company. This one is a Non-Equity tour produced by BIG LEAGUE productions.

Now celebrating its 18th year, the annual production of THE MANOR has become a Los Angeles/Beverly Hills institution with several performances selling out even before tickets go on sale to the public. Its popularity, no doubt, is due to the scandalous true story as told by the talented actors who each inhabit their characters to a tee, costumed to time-period perfection, as well as the chance to be inside the grand and glorious architectural landmark in which the events of 91 years ago actually took place, performed in two acts taking place 10 years apart. The names of all characters in the tragic Doheny family saga have been changed, of course, a?oeto protect the guiltya?? as we are told before the play begins by the mansion's loyal butler, James, portrayed this year by David Hunt Stafford who also produces the show for Theatre 40 in association with The City of Beverly Hills.
