BroadwayWorld has learned that all remaining performances on the Anastasia tour have been cancelled through Summer 2020, due to the health crisis.

ANASTASIA, announced today that rising theater star, Jake Levy, will assume the principal role of Dmitry beginning October 8, 2019, in Los Angeles, CA. This will mark Jake's naDonal tour debut as the North American tour embarks on its second season.

Anastasia, currently playing through Sunday, June 30th at DeVos Hall, by the Tony Award-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime and inspired by the beloved films, Anastasia is the new dazzling Broadway Musical that transports the audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Thankfully, when ANASTASIA hit Broadway, it dispensed with anyone immortal or winged, replacing fantasy with the real-world politics that led up to the Romanovs' demise. The added historical context grounds this once-wacky story, and frankly, I would have welcomed even more of it...

Broadway In Chicago announces there will be a digital lottery for ANASTASIA, which will play for a limited two-week engagement at Broadway In Chicago's James M. Nederlander Theatre (24 W. Randolph) from March 26 through April 7, 2019.

In 2017, the Broadway musical version of Anastasia (which opened at Hartford Stage nice months earlier), based on the 1997 film, featuring music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and a book by Terrence McNally debuted to much fanfare, and now Nashville audiences are in the thrall of the cast and crew of the national touring company, onstage at Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall through Sunday, March 24.

After two successful years on Broadway, the musical adaptation of the hit animated fil, ANASTASIA will play its final performance on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
