Oak Cliff's award-winning multicultural and multidiscipline center for the arts, Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC), announces the 2019/2020 theatre series season. Under the direction of Founder and Executive Artistic Director Teresa Coleman Wash, the 26th season celebrates color, culture, and creativity embodying the diverse community of voices that are found in North Texas.

Broadway is coming to the big screen! Thirteen movie musicals are currently in development and are set to delight audiences in the coming months and years, from long-awaited movie adaptations to remakes and sequels of fan favorites. With such a variety to look forward to, we're getting you prepared by giving you a peek at each of the movies officially announced to receive the silver screen treatment! Stew and Heidi Rodewald of the band The Negro Problem and the songwriter team who created the Tony, Drama Desk and Obie-winning musical Passing Strange are hitting the road with a new act called Staged Dives, which they're previewing at the Ancram Opera House in Columbia County, New York June 28 and 29 before bringing it to Joe's Pub in August. They talked with Dan Dwyer of Off Script about the new show and their twenty-year collaboration.

Charlie Bucket has been found and he has a Golden Ticket! Producers John Frost, Craig Donnell, Warner Bros Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions today announced the five boys who will play the role of Charlie in the Melbourne season of the Helpmann Award nominated spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roald Dahl's delicious tale will begin at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 August following an outstanding six-month season at Sydney's Capitol Theatre.

Julie Andrews will lend her voice to the character of "Lady Whistledown" in Netflix and Shondaland's upcoming 'The Untitled Bridgerton Series.'

The New Colony presents UNCHARTED, a two-week showcase of plays at different points in their journeys to production, playing July 11 - 20, 2019 at TNC's resident home, The Den Theatre (2B) 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) continues this week with the ADF debut of North Carolina-based Murielle Elizéon & Tommy Noonan/Culture Mill and their presentation of the ADF-commissioned They Are All.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF) honors the great French composer Michel Legrand, who died in January this year, with a special Cin Salon series devoted to his life and work. Curated by one of his longtime collaborators and greatest interpreters, singer and actress Melissa Errico, Summer of Michel Legrand brings together seven of his films from his best known triumphs such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Young Girls of Rochefort to lesser known gems such as the enchanting fairy-tale musical Donkey Skin. Screenings take place on Tuesdays in July at 4pm and 7:30pm in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.

Contradict This! A Birthday Funeral for Heroes will take place as part of Stonewall 50 at La MaMa, a month-long celebration of World Pride with exciting voices from around the globe and down the block, featuring multiple generations of queer performers as they pose questions, honor legacies and ignite the present.

The Sydney season of the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming to an end, with the season extended due to huge demand until 21 July. Tickets for the final two weeks will go on sale on Friday 31 May. Following the Sydney season, the production will play at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne from 9 August, and at the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane from March 2020.

The spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is coming to Brisbane in March next year, playing at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC, following a hugely successful season in Sydney and the much-anticipated season at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne from August. Written by and starring RONNIE MARMO and directed by Tony Award winner JOE MANTEGNA (star of CBS' CRIMINAL MINDS), the funny and provocative play began as a limited engagement at the Cutting Room and continued performances at the world-famous Theatre of Varieties, The Box (189 Chrystie Street, Manhattan).

Grammy®, TONY®, and Emmy® Award-winning artist Ben Platt has announced official details of his upcoming show at Radio City Music Hall on September 29, 2019. IFC Center today announced an impressive and wide-ranging lineup for the third annual Split Screens Festival (www.splitscreensfestival.com) taking place Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, June 3, 2019, at the IFC Center in New York City. The festival consists of special events offering a variety of looks at history, identity and the mystery of existence itself, including panels on series that explore dystopian realities and alternate timelines, and screenings that transport us into any number of time periods and places, be it a late-1800s South Dakota town or the height of 1980s ballroom culture in New York City.
