These productions continue the theatre's 10th Season of revivals of some of the theatre's favorite shows. ???????The Old Globe, together with Children's Theatre Company (CTC), and in partnership with The Old Vic, today announced details for the Minneapolis and San Diego productions of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax in its U.S. premiere. The production, based on the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, is adapted for the stage by David Greig (Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company; recent work: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cover My Tracks) with music and lyrics written by Charlie Fink (Frontman/songwriter for the hit musical group, Noah and the Whale (2007-2015). H. Adam Harris, along with Meghan Kreidler and Rick Miller puppeteering, will play The Lorax. Joining them is Steven Epp as The Once-ler. Playing multiple roles in the ensemble are Ansa Akyea, Christopher Becknell, Stephanie Bertumen, Brian Bose, Ryan Colbert, Lynnea Doublette, Johannah "Joh" Easley, Rajane Katurah, Ryan Lear, Ryan Dean Maltz, Emily Michaels King, and Autumn Ness. Who has never dreamed of imprisoning time, being eternally a child? The desires of Peter Pan populate the collective unconscious and follow as one of the great longings of humanity. No wonder, the fable of the boy who refused to grow up, created by J. M. Berrie, is more and more current. This classic became a reference in literature, in the cinema and also in the theater. The Broadway version of 'Peter Pan' will finally win a Brazilian staging, with Mateus Ribeiro in the title role and Daniel Boaventura as Captain Hook. The show directed by Jose Possi Neto and choreographed by Alonso Barros, premiered on March 8, at Teatro Alfa, in a production of Touche Entertainment and coproduction of Daniel Boaventura. This inventive and hilarious series of stories is about family, life's surprises, and the great delight of what seem to be disasters becoming your favorite memories. CTC Celebrates 19 Years Of Neighborhood Bridges At The Crossing Bridges Festival

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) presents the Crossing Bridges Festival, the culminating event of CTC's education program Neighborhood Bridges on May 7, 8, 15 and 16, 2018.  This festival involves over 600 students in 24 classrooms from 11 elementary schools performing captivating stories that have been written and adapted solely by the students. Students choose stories from the Bridges curriculum, analyze it and then reimagine the story through their own perspective. They then create their own costumes and scenery that are unique to their interpretation of the story. The main goal is to motivate students to become the narrators of their own lives. (more...)
