Chefs from Benchmark Resorts & Hotels Offer New Takes On an American Autumnal Culinary Classic, Chili!
by Marina Kennedy - Nov 1, 2016

Chili. It's comfort food with a kick - a creation of chuck wagon cooks to fuel cowboys along the cattle trail. A steaming 'bowl of red' is the official dish of Texas, and the Lone Star State traces its origins to the legendary Mexican Chili Queens of San Antonio who lined the city's plazas with pots of homemade chili. Chuck wagon chefs were said to have planted small gardens of herbs, onions and peppers along the cattle trail to ensure a steady supply of ingredients. The meat in the stew could include whatever was available - beef, buffalo, jackrabbit and even armadillo. Outlaws loved it - Frank and Jesse James spared the local bank in the town where their favorite chili parlor stood.

BWW Review: Michigan Philharmonic Phright Night A Huge Success
by Anton Anderssen - Oct 24, 2016

The Michigan Philharmonic performed its annual Phright Night concert last Saturday at the PARC in Plymouth; as always, it was a huge success. The symphony harvested some scary tunes at its beloved Halloween POPS concert.  Maestro Nan Washburn entered the building on her motorized scooter, drawing thunderous applause from patrons. She opened the concert using a large wooden spoon as her conductor's baton, then quickly switched it out with a professional one.  The selections were wonderful, and very much a treat for the ears.

BWW Review: Talented All-Star Cast Brings Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID to the Hollywood Bowl
by Michael L. Quintos - Jun 5, 2016

It's clear that the smart and savvy architects behind Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID Live In Concert To Film, the sold out presentation of Disney's 1989 animated classic THE LITTLE MERMAID at the 17,000-seat Hollywood Bowl have indeed created a wholly wonderful experience. But it owes much of its must-see status to the winning all-star line-up that has been assembled for this special event. Yet, although the cast may have been the initial draw, the audience was treated to a truly magical evening all around.

BWW Blog: Eliza Porsella - Don't Knock the Scenery!
by Guest Blogger: Elizabeth Porsella - May 25, 2016

With less than a month before "Shrek" makes its debut, we have doubled our rehearsal time. We have also had many more morning rehearsals to clean the dances. So far all of the morning rehearsals are for the Duloc performance. The Duloc number is still shaky. Our music teacher also plays the piano faster than the recorded music we rehearse to. Therefore, we are usually late for certain parts.
