Robert Icke, the major talent of British theatre, wrote and directed a sequel to one of the most influential stage plays in history: Nora (A Doll's House) by Henrik Ibsen. Children of Nora premieres on 5 April in Internationaal Theater Amsterdam.

Jon Culshaw will star as 'Bill Bryson' in a brand-new stage production of Bryson's award-winning memoir NOTES FROM A SMALL ISLAND adapted by BAFTA and Olivier Award winning playwright Tim Whitnall. Directed by the Watermill's Artistic Director Paul Hart, the production will have its world premiere in Newbury on Thursday 24 September and play until Saturday 31 October, with a national press night on Monday 28 September. The production will then tour to Malvern, Cambridge, and Richmond, with further dates to announced.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of As You Like It, presented April 30a?"June 21, 2020 in the Courtyard Theater. This vibrant, '60s-inspired adaptation infuses Shakespeare's romantic comedy with the hit songs of The Beatlesa?"lifting the playwright's timeless verse in beautiful harmony with the immortal music of the a?oeFab Four.a??

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is officially in previews on Broadway! Two-time Tony Award and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf and Rupert Everett star on Broadway in Edward Albee's seminal drama Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, this production also stars Russell Tovey and 2019 Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran.

The 2020 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Lucy Prebble for her play A Very Expensive Poison.

The Mendocino Theatre Company's 2020 season opens March 5th with Ivan Menchell's The Cemetery Club, directed by veteran director Bob Cohen (Rumors, Ideation). This warm and poignant comedy, which explores life's unexpected changes, enduring friendships, and the power of love features a cast of local favorites including Janice Culliford, Raven Deerwater, Jan Saul, Lynn Sotos, and Debra Wagner.

Joey Mendoza considers himself a private man. He balks at the attention and prefers to let his work take the stage - literally. He's in the public eye, nonetheless, because brilliant work inevitably betrays its source.

Vineyard Theatre presents Dana H., by Lucas Hnath, adapted from interviews with Dana Higginbotham conducted by Steve Cosson, and directed by Les Waters, began previews on February 11 with Deirdre O'Connell reprising the title role for the New York premiere direct from engagements at Center Theatre Group and The Goodman Theatre. 

Not-for-profit History Matters/Back to the Future has announced its winner for this year's Judith Barlow Prize. The Annual Judith Barlow Prize is awarded to a student playwright for an exceptional one-act play inspired by the work of an historic female playwright. The student winner of the prize receives a $2,500 award and a reading of their work in New York City, with a $500 award to the professor of the course in which the inspiring play was taught.

Bustle & Beast will present Girl in the Machine by Olivier award-winning playwright, Stef Smith.

The Jamie Lloyd Company presents Anya Reiss' adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. The cast is led by Emilia Clarke (Nina) with Danny Ashok (Medvedenko), Robert Glenister (Sorin), Tom Rhys Harries (Trigorin), Daniel Monks (Konstantin), Tamzin Outhwaite (Polina), Patrick Robinson (Dorn), Seun Shote (Shamrayev), Indira Varma (Arkadina), and Sophie Wu (Masha). The production opens at Playhouse Theatre on 19 March, with previews from 11 March, and runs until 30 May.

Ensemble Member Robin Witt returns to Steep this summer to direct Simon Stephens' Light Falls. Stephens, who won the Tony and Olivier Awards for his The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, is Steep's Associate Playwright, and this will be the sixth of his plays to be produced by the Edgewater ensemble. Light Falls premiered at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester in October of 2019, and Steep's production will be the play's U.S. premiere. Robin Witt is a longtime director and Company Member at Steep. Her work includes last summer's Pomona and recent hits Linda and Lela & Co., which won 2018 Jeff Awards for Director, Production, and Performer in a Principal Role.

The Circuit Playhouse, Inc., parent company to The Circuit Playhouse, TheatreWorks at the Square, and Playhouse on the Square have announced their 2020-2021 Season.

 Two-time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals has brought together an extraordinary group of artists to contribute to the trio of exciting productions planned this season: a beloved Golden Age classic, a World Premiere folk-rock musical and a thrilling musical masterwork. Single tickets for all three shows set for Goodspeed's 2020 season go on public sale Sunday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m..

Artistic Director, Hunter Foster has announced Redhouse Arts Center's 2020-21 Main Stage Season featuring several Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning productions that are sure to delight audiences of all ages. With every production this season, Redhouse will utilize its versatile theatre space to treat audiences to a thrilling theatre experience. 'We found our audiences really loved the intimacy of our productions, as they did with our musical, Rent', stated Foster. 'Having the actors so close to the audience really elevated the story's emotional level. No other theatre in Central New York gives such an immersive experience to an audience the way Redhouse can, and we want to continue experimenting with our spaces for the 20/21 season', he concluded. Building on this year's success, Redhouse will offer five Main Stage shows with some productions offering an extended three week run.

South Coast Repertory Artistic Director David Ivers and Managing Director Paula Tomei today announced the lineup for the 2020 Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The annual showcase of new works, part of the theatre's new-play development arm, The Lab@SCR, includes two world-premiere productionsa?"The Scarlet Letter by Kate Hamill and I Get Restless by Caroline V. McGrawa?"and five staged readings. PPF runs April 24-26, with morning, afternoon and evening events. Single tickets and value-priced ticket packages are now on sale at www.scr.org.

Over the course of three days, Nora must fight to protect herself and her family or risk losing everything. Nora: A Doll's House is now playing at the Young Vic (66 The Cut).

The Auckland Fringe festival kicks off on 25 February with a full programme packed with more than 70 events happening over the 12-day festival. In the mix is something for everyone, with 46 of world premieres across 26 of spaces, from both local and international artists and performers. Audiences can see Shakespeare reimagined, Dungeons & Dragons inspired improv, comedy aplenty, variety line-ups, metal music, four-hour long shows, poetry written and performed live and everything else imaginable.

Classic plays provide us a snapshot of the time period in which they were written. They can show us how far we may or may not have progressed as a society. Henrik Ibsen's 'A Doll's House' is one such classic. Now in production at Raven Theatre, this new take offers up a sharp, refreshing look. Raven Artistic Director Cody Estle remarks in a program note that what is addressed in 'A Doll's House' 'remain issues in our own time.'

Raven Theatre is continuing its 2019-20 season with a revival of Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece A DOLL'S HOUSE, in a vibrant and progressive new adaptation making its Chicago premiere. Directed by Lauren Shouse, the new work features translation by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and adaptation by Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Salt Lake Acting Company's 49th season continues with the Utah premiere of Lucas Hnath's A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2. The 8-time Tony Award-nominated play is being produced in SLAC's Upstairs Theatre February 5 through March 8, 2020.
