The Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) conclude their 39th mainstage season with 1946 comedy Born Yesterday by Garson Kanin. Performances take place April 24-May 17, 2020 in the lower level of St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey, Chicago (enter on Marshfield).

The Elmwood Playhouse of Nyack NY will be presenting 'Born Yesterday', written by Garson Kanin and directed by Melinda Pinto. 'Born Yesterday' is a surprisingly thought-provoking romantic comedy that is both funny and resonant in today's world. Love and lawlessness collide when a junkyard tycoon comes to Washington, DC with his girlfriend, ex-show girl Billie Dawn, to buy a senator. 'Born Yesterday' runs March 13th thru April 4th Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm with a Thursday night performance on April 2nd at 8pm and a Saturday matinee on April 4th at 2pm. Leap Day Celebration: A Dance-Off! kicks off the 2020 free AXIS event series! Ten local dance crews will battle each other in front of an experienced panel of local esteemed judges (including yourself!) who will select the very best performances for cash prizes ($2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 for third place), while all dancers will receive small prizes for participating. American fans of the Tony-Award winning musical Come From Away have the opportunity to join Kevin Tuerff's 18th annual Pay it Forward 9/11 tradition through a guided tour of Newfoundland. The tour will occur September 6-12, in conjunction with the anniversary of the 9/11. Maxxim Vacations and Air Canada announced the tour today at the 2020 New York Times Travel Show (Jan 24-25 at Booth 642 in Canada section).

MUSICAL UNPLUGGED, by now an institution in Austria's entertainment sector, invited into the Studio 44, near the beautiful Baroque Palace Belvedere in the heart of Vienna. Only once or twice a year, Florian Schützenhofer, the founder of MU gathers together some great voices for a unique concert experience, the perfect entertainment after a long day in the office. Due to a sudden illness of Richard Redl, Jakob Semotan ( MU Veteran) took over all of Redls songs and got himself a busy evening on stage. Semotan opened the evening on a high with Heaven On Their Minds (Jesus Christ Superstar) and set himself a high standard for the rest of the evening. One spouse said during the intermission that Semotans voice sounded crystal clear, it's like listening to a professional recording in your own living room. Concerts like these are on risk to bore audiences by wrong song choices, or by hiring just names instead of artists. Neither did the MU-Team. The likes of DENISE SCHRENZER, Drag Queen NAOMI KING, RANDY DIAMOND, MICHAEL VINZENZ, and Creator FLORIAN SCH?oeTZENHOFER followed JAKOB SEMOTANS energetic Opening. It went out to be a firework of beautiful often and not so often heard Musical Anthems as well as some Chart Hits. Another one great voice took over the microphone, CHRISTOPH APFELBECK ( U/S Count KROLOCK; Dance Of The Vampires Stuttgart). It's a mess that a voice like his is going to leave Vienna, Apfelbecks voice is something you can't get enough from. It's one thing to belt out loud but it's so much harder to enchant the room with soft notes. The audience got beguiled by APFELBECKS tempting voice. The artists got accompanied by MICHAEL R?-MER, who is currently conducting the VBW Orchestra at the city's most beautiful Junkyard. Sometimes, a piano and a guy who knows how to use it are all that you need. R?-MER set the Feurich 218 literally on fire with passion and precision. When you get the chance to see MUSICAL UNPLUGGED, do not hesitate, go for it and you will get an entertaining evening, free voices, one piano, a promise MU is able to fulfill.

New Store No. 2 is the second solo album from Chris Maxwell, a quintuple threat: gifted songwriter, singer, guitarist, producer, arranger. He's best known for the catchy, jagged junkyard rock he made with the legendary New York band Skeleton Key in the 90's and more recent work as half of the Elegant Too production team. With the latter he's composed and recorded music for hit TV series like the Emmy Award-winning Bob's Burgers and produced artists like They Might Be Giants and Jon Spencer ... as one does! New Store No. 2 is being released February 14 (Valentine's Day!) by Max Recordings.

As the Olivier Award-winning a?oeBest New Musicala?? Come From Away enters its second year in the West End, it welcomes new cast members from Monday 10 February 2020. Are they still hungry? Do they want a head scratch? We all have wondered what are our pets thinking at some point, and due to the bond shared, we are usually able to make a good guess. What about the alleycats that we pass on the streets? With eyes that track our every movement. Andrew Lloyd Webber's renowned CATS is making its grand foray into the National Theatre from January 17-25. Join in on the junkyard antics as the talented Young Australian Broadway Chorus get set to wow audiences yet again, having won hearts and rave reviews in the past.

A select group of journalists have visited the backstage at The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City to explore first-hand the behind-the-scenes of the Broadway musical Cats. The international touring company's stage manager, Jordan Goff, was our able guide.

CATS is not your ordinary musical. In fact, it's a sung-through piece of dance theater, which was conceived for the West End stage at a time when Andrew Lloyd Webber had never yet had a huge hit, and the emerging art form was heavily identified with the American Theatre.

As hit musical Come From Away celebrates its 300th performance and 300,000th visitor in the UK, the Olivier Award-winning a?oeBest New Musicala?? announces that it will further extend its hugely successful run in the West End until 23 May 2020.

The Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has unveiled the full lineup for its sixth annual event celebrating the life and career of novelist Philip K. Dick. With an emphasis on technological advancements and existence of alternative worlds and cultures, the festival will gather in Lille, France from October 25-26, 2019 and in Cologne, Germany from October 31-November 1, 2019.
