TDCNYC Presents a brand new production of The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney. Pre recorded in quarantine under strict COVID-19 safety measures, this brand new staging uses 52 live actors to bring Gurney's 1981 play about the decline of Northeastern WASP culture and tradition to a diverse 2021 audience.

Recorded live in the Grand Hall of Budapest's Liszt Academy in December 2018, Hallgató is an inspired and moving album from Ferenc Snétberger and the Keller Quartett. Hungary's outstanding acoustic guitarist and its foremost chamber group are heard together and separately, in a program with compositions by Snétberger, Shostakovich, John Dowland and Samuel Barber, which unfolds with its own internal logic and dramaturgy.

On January 15, 2020, Naxos will release a new album from Giancarlo Guerrero and the Nashville Symphony including two major works by Pulitzer and Erasmus Prize-winning American composer JOHN ADAMS: My Father Knew Charles Ives and Harmonielehre (Naxos 8.559854).

The Playground Theatre has announced its early Summer season with three very different shows, traveling from ancient Greece, to 1940s America, to 1980s Paris. The season opens with Fragments, which pieces together a long-lost Euripides play from pieces of papyrus, followed by The Respectable Prostitute, where powerful people spread false truths for their personal ambition and closes with Blue Electric directed by Hugh Hudson, who directed the 1981 film Chariots of Fire.

The much lauded and much admired Broadway leading lady Christine Ebersole will be bringing AN EVENING WITH CHRISTINE EBERSOLE for one night only at The Wallis February 28, 2020. Winner of two Tony Awards (42nd STREET and GREY GARDENS), Christine, in between her many theatrical engagements (and present television gig), ventures out in cabaret settings as her effervescent self, showcasing her gorgeous vocals and charming wit. In a delightful phone conversation, Christine answered my questions with sharp quips as only a seasoned comedienne would. (She was a Saturday Night Live cast member, after all!)
