Trap Door Theatre Extends Run Of Krista Knight's LIPSTICK LOBOTOMY

Trap Door Theatre is adding three more performances to its run of a?oeLipstick Lobotomy,a?? written by Krista Knight and directed by Kate Hendrickson. Additional shows will be at 8 p.m. March 26, 27 and 28. The show features Dennis Bisto, Abby Blankenship, Natara Easter, Ann James, Eleanor Katz, Emily Lotspeich, Michael Mejia, Kirk Osgood, Ann Sonneville, Michaela Voit, Bob Wilson and Bernadetta Zawiejska.

Porchlight Music Theatre has announced the star of Porchlight's spring production, the Chicago premiere of Disney's Freaky Friday, A New Musical Cory Goodrich as the host of New Faces Sing Broadway NOW, directed by Johanna McKenzie Miller and music directed by Tom Vendafreddo; at Evanston at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave., Monday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and at The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Ontario Street, Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Single tickets to each New Faces are $37 at SPACE and $60 at The Arts Club. Underscore Theatre Company Presents its 6th Annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

Underscore Theatre Company will present its 6th annual CHICAGO MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, created to showcase and support the growing field of musical theatre creators from Chicago and beyond. The 2020 Festival features full productions of eight new musicals, plus two pay-what-you-can staged readings and a showcase of 10-minute musicals. The Festival will be performed simultaneously on two stages from February 3 - 23, 2020 at The Edge Theater: the Broadway (5451 N. Broadway) and the Off Broadway (1133 W. Catalpa Ave.) in Chicago Edgewater neighborhood. Each full production will receive at least five performances during the Festival. Tickets are currently available at www.cmtf.org. The press 'Sneak Preview,' featuring a sampling of songs from the 2020 Festival, is Monday, February 3 at 8 pm.

Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill continues its Free Summer Movie Matinee Series this Saturday July 6th with a real gem - German animator Lotte Reiniger's exquisite "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" (1926). Based on tales from the Arabian Nights, the film tells the story of the handsome and dashing Prince Achmed, who is tricked by a wicked sorcerer into mounting a magical flying horse. The prince foils the sorcerer's evil intent and soars headlong into a series of exciting adventures, joining forces with Aladdin and the Witch of the Fiery Mountains, doing battle with the sorcerer's army of monsters and demons, and falling in love with the beautiful Princess Peri Banu.
