It's me, and I have a band. I sing songs and tell stories all under the theme or the umbrella of getting older, and what is age appropriateness, and things I've noticed about getting older. Mostly, it’s about why is it that we, as a culture, have decided that getting older is the worst possible thing that can happen to us when, of course, it's the only thing that is inevitable in our lives apart from death. And I just I'm really curious about that.

Sacramento is brimming with new works in theatre this month, and one play that I am particularly looking forward to is by former Sacramento-based playwright James Van Eaton. The premiere of his Oscar Wilde-inspired An Honest Apology will be performed at FreeFall Stage beginning with their annual Valentine’s Day Dessert on February 14th. BroadwayWorld spoke to James about feminism, video games, and all things Wilde.

Dalton Dover releases Take Me Home: Covers via UMG Nashville/Mercury Records, a musical journey that pays homage to his roots while honoring some of the songs that laid the groundwork for the artist and songwriter he is. Winona Oak has delved into her songwriting, seeking a more unvarnished sound that meant her poetic voice had nowhere to hide. The outcome is some of her most raw and authentic work yet, with a profound depth to her writing, as seen on recent singles ‘With Or Without You', ‘Fire Escapes' and ‘Fragile Thing'.

If you have ever gone out for a job interview, gone on a first date, or just put yourself out there for something you really wanted. Then you can relate to this play, and you can specifically relate to the power of “No,” which is certainly one of the themes in the play. Mickle's work is always very funny.

Catya McMullen (pictured), a native New Yorker, now finds herself at home in Los Angeles. While working in film and television, her life-long love of theater inspired her to write plays.
