Transport Group has announced casting for The Unsinkable Molly Brown, its second mainstage production of the 2019-20 season. Joining Tony Award nominee Beth Malone (Fun Home) who will play Molly Brown are David Aron Damane (The Book of Mormon, Big River, The Life) as JJ, Whitney Bashor (The Bridges of Madison County) as Julia, Omar Lopez-Cepero (On Your Feet!) as Vincenzo, Alex Gibson (SpongeBob SquarePants; Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) as Erich, and Paolo Montalban (Pacific Overtures, The King and I) as Arthur. Rounding out the cast are Kaitlyn Davidson; Tyrone Davis, Jr.; Gregg Goodbrod; Michael Halling; Karl Josef Co; Nikka Graff Lanzarone; Kate Marilley; Shina Ann Morris; Keven Quillon; and CoCo Smith.

BroadwayCon and the Broadway League Foundation have announced the finalists for the fourth annual BroadwayCon Star To Be talent competition. Finalists will perform on the BroadwayCon MainStage for a panel of three celebrity judges and a room full of fellow Broadway fans on Saturday, January 25, 2020. The 2019 Jimmy Awards® winners Ekele Ukegbu and Ethan Kelso will perform during the competition while the judges deliberate. The BroadwayCon Star to Be winner will receive a pair of tickets to the 2020 Jimmy Awards ceremony.

The tour will open at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on 29 May 2020 where it will play until 6 June 2020, before visiting Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (9 a?" 13 June 2020), Nottingham Theatre Royal (16 a?" 20 June 2020), Southampton Mayflower (22 a?" 27 June 2020), Leeds Grand Theatre (29 June a?" 4 July 2020), Theatre Royal Plymouth (14 a?" 18 July 2020), Regent's Theatre Stoke on Trent (21 a?" 25 July 2020), Southend Cliff's Pavilion (28 July a?" 1 August 2020), Marlowe Theatre Canterbury (4 a?" 8 August 2020), Bristol Hippodrome (11 a?" 15 August 2020), Llandudno Venue Cymru (18 a?" 22 August 2020), Manchester Palace Theatre (25 a?" 29 August 2020), Eden Court Inverness (1 a?" 5 September 2020), King's Theatre Glasgow (8 a?" 12 September 2020) and Sheffield Lyceum (15 a?" 19 September 2020). Six films were selected for special recognition on Saturday, November 16th at the Boston International Kids Film Festival (BIKFF). The independent judges selected one winner for each of the five film categories Best Documentary, Best Short Film, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Student Documentary, Best Student Short Film. Furthermore one film was honored with the Peggy Charren Award for Excellence, created in honor of Peggy Charren, who worked tirelessly to achieve both quality and diversity in children's television, and organized parents in her community to create an advocacy group, Action for Children's Television (ACT). More than 80 films were selected for the festival that celebrates films for, by, and about kids. BIKFF was held at the Capitol Theatre in Arlington, the Somerville Theatre, and Lesley University College of Art and Design on November 15th - 17th.

Take Me Out has found its full Broadway cast! Second Stage Theater has announced full casting for the Broadway production of Richard Greenberg's Tony Award-winning play, Take Me Out. Julian Cihi, Hiram Delgado, Brandon J. Dirden, Will Harrison, Carl Lundstedt, Ken Marks, Michael Oberholtzer, and Joél Pérez will join previously announced stars Patrick J. Adams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jesse Williams. Directed by Scott Ellis, Take Me Out will begin previews April 2, 2020 and officially open on April 23, 2020 at Second Stage's Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street).
