Dan Band on March 2, 2018 to raise awareness of Puerto Rico's hurricane recovery needs and to provide an evening of entertainment open to all.

Proud Haddock's The Dog Beneath The Skin will star Pete Ashmore (Arms and the Man, Watford Palace Theatre; Private Lives, Mercury Theatre; Treasure Island, Birmingham Rep) as Alan Normanand Cressida Bonas (Mrs Orwell, Old Red Lion Theatre, Southwark Playhouse; An Evening With Lucian Freud, Leicester Square Theatre; The Great Gatsby, Leicester Square Theatre) as The Dog.

 Presented by the Foundation of Estonian Arts and Letters, Esto-Atlantis Choral Concert will celebrate the Republic of Estonia's centennial. 100+ singers from around the world will gather to perform and honor the rich heritage of Estonian choral music on Lincoln Center's world-renowned stage. The program manifests four generations of one musical Estonian family: Rudolf Tobias (1973-1918), his daughter, Helen Tobias-Duesberg (1919-2010), granddaughter Maaja Duesberg Roos (b.1945), and great-granddaughter Leila Roos (b.1986). The former two will be present in the spirit of their compositions, the latter two conducting their music, with Maaja additionally performing at the piano and Leila singing in the choir. This Easter Sunday performance includes sacred choral selections by Tobias, and the American premiere of Reekviem by Tobias-Duesberg, as well as the ethereal Morning Star by her contemporary Arvo Part, who is the most performed living composer in the world. Against a backdrop of bitter intolerance and terrible violence in the Indian state of Assam in the 1980's, filmmaker Bidyut Kotoky's semi-autobiographical tale, Rainbow Fields (Xhoixobote Dhemalite), is told through the eyes of children impacted by events they don't fully understand. The children's playtime games lead to an incident that changes them forever, and years later as adults they must grapple with coming to terms with what happened, and with themselves. First rate acting, notably by Victor Banerjee (A Passage to India) and by the child actors, plus the rich cinematography, add to the depth of the film. For those who are familiar with, and especially for those who are unfamiliar with, this period of Indian history, this arresting film is a must-see.

Orpheus is joined this season by an illustrious group of international soloists including pianists Nobuyuki Tsujii and Javier Perianes and the Avi Avital and Ksenija Sidorova Duo at Carnegie Hall, as well as cellist Steven Isserlis and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani at 92nd Street Y. As part of Orpheus' ongoing American Notes commissioning initiative, two new pieces Benjamin Wallfisch's Concerto for Mandolin and Accordion and a work by James Matheson receive their world premieres next season.

The Locketeer is an adaptation of Elias Canetti's play from 1956, The Numbered wherein a nameless future state claims its power by imposing life spans on its citizens. This competition for status causes social paranoia and a tragicomic refusal of facts. The adaptation will be devised with the ensemble.

When violinist Nun Melik moved from Moscow to Montreal alone in 2009 she felt d racin e, or rootless. To combat her loneliness, the Siberian-born violinist of Armenian and Georgian heritage began to play music from composers she had heard and loved growing up. Soon, Melik became inspired to dig more deeply into the music of her homeland, igniting a passion for research including three trips to Armenia over the past seven years and the desire to bring this music to a wider audience. Since forming a partnership with pianist Michel-Alexandre Broekaert in 2010, Melik has performed the music of Hidden Treasure to audiences across North America and beyond, and has also delivered numerous lectures, in four languages, about her research. Melik calls this very personal album a celebration of the survival spirit and creativity of the Armenian people.

Morris-Jumel is proud to announce a terrific and timely new exhibit of the famed New Yorker cartoonist, Charles Addams, for the Fall/Winter 2017 season. Charles Addams Family and Friends will explore family values, rearing of children, entertaining and family outings. Additionally, the exhibition looks at New York and presidential life and will feature memorabilia as well as other Addams ephemera. Julia Elizabeth Wells was born on October 1, 1935, in England. Her mother, Barbara Ward (Morris), and stepfather, both vaudeville performers, discovered her four-octave singing voice and immediately started her singing career, performing in music halls throughout her childhood and teens. At age 20, her stage career began in a London Palladium production of Cinderella.
