A Trial - after An Enemy of the People presents a modern continuation of Henrik Ibsen's classic, directed by Christiane Jatahy. Starring Golden Globe-winning actor Wagner Moura, the play explores themes of authoritarianism and public judgment within a contemporary Brazilian context. Audience participation integrates a unique element, as randomly selected attendees take on the role of jurors, directly influencing the outcome of the performance. This piece marks the first chapter in a significant three-year commissioning collaboration among the Edinburgh International Festival, Holland Festival, and Festival d'Avignon.
