BWW Previews: EARTH DUET AND OTHER STORIES at Center Stage Theater

Earth Duet and Other Stories, opening this weekend at Center Stage Theater, focuses on the all-too-timely subject of the environment and climate change. DramaDogs had selected Earth Duet and Other Stories well before our community bore the double blows of fire and flood. Artistic Directors E. Bonnie Lewis and Ken Gilbert emphasize that their production steers clear of didacticism and hopelessness. Rather, the short plays that comprise Earth Duet offer a celebratory imagining of the earth with humor and musicality, presented with DramaDogs' signature physically-centered dramatic style. The production was developed as part of Climate Change Theatre Action, a global effort to "promote environmental awareness" through theatre. Earth Duet features pieces by Elyn Quan, Lynn Rosen, Elaine Avila, Abhishek Majumdar, Em Lewis, and Climate Change Theater Action's Chantal Bilodeau. It stars E. Bonnie Lewis, Nita June Davanzo, Justin Davanzo, Mack Urbanowicz, and Tyler X. Koontz. Original Music by Eric Valinsky and Josh Jenkins.
