Music by Andrew Lippa | Lyrics & Book by Tom Greenwald
Directed by Erin Ortman | Music Supervision by Alexander Gemignani
Dramaturgy by Arnab Banerji | Starring Ari Afsar & Nikhil Saboo
Spanning from the 1950s through the 1990s, John & Jen traces the evolving relationship between a sister and brother, and later, a mother and son. Reframed through the experience of a South Asian immigrant family, this production foregrounds the pressures of assimilation, the cost of silence, and the ways national identity shapes private lives. What emerges is a story not only about family, but about inheritance – what we carry, what we bury, and what we are finally able to say out loud. John & Jen becomes a reminder – especially now – of how complicated love can be, and how often we misstep in the name of doing what we believe is right.
