Opening Marin Shakespeare Company's 30th Anniversary Season will be a contemporary design production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE, with scenes set in San Quentin State Prison, where the company has offered their Shakespeare In Prison Programs for the past 16 years. Artistic Director Robert Currier, who directs, looks forward to exploring this play about criminal justice, hypocrisy, and sexual harassment with actors and audience. Theres no other Shakespeare play that is as relevant today as MEASURE FOR MEASURE, says Currier, and for our audiences, many of whom have been to San Quentin to see inmate performances of Shakespeare plays, this setting will resonate in a way that is personal and immediate."
