James Gaffigan, general music director of Komische Oper Berlin and Music Director Designate of the Houston Grand Opera, leads the San Francisco Symphony in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Soprano Jessica Faselt, mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor, tenor Thomas Cooley, bass Peixin Chen, and the SF Symphony Chorus join Gaffigan and the Orchestra for the final movement "Ode to Joy." These performances are dedicated to Music Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas, recalling the Ninth Symphony's place in the first subscription concerts MTT conducted as Music Director in 1995.
