Darksmith People Skills Seymour Glass Relay For Death
"A total mystery, perfectly paced organization of dirt sound...not harsh...not mellow...just dirty, weird, and confusing...and to quote the sleevenotes of the first few Queen LPs....'No Synthesizers!'" "...A solid and fulfilling program: churning and grinding molded into a coherent, communal, quasi-narrative mass; voice fragments shattered and scattered near urban storm drains, where the last flickers of meaning rot and ooze downward toward the final mulch pile; and evocations of drama-free emotional desolation hobbling through borderline toxic atmospheres."

Untrained experiments in improvised sound collage by Jesse S. Dewlow who started out using only found, free materials to assemble simple songs, slow pop formulas that caricature listenable music. "A buzzing loop will become the basis for a quiet indie dirge; keyboards flash on and off like fireflies and you only realize he was quietly murmuring some lyrics after the song is over." Budget collage and negligent songcraft define an inconspicuous unease that defies genre classification. "People Skills could kill an hour or two watching you scrape goo off your mukluks after repeated tromps through the brack-befouled trench between music and non-music. You put on a show for him, he'll put on a show for you. Everyone shows a little leg, we all go home winners." -S.Glass

Known libertine, member of Glands of External Secretion [duo with Barbara Manning], foundling member of Bren't Lewiis Ensemble, publisher of the legendary Bananafish magazine and purveyor at Tedium House distro. “A psychotic butcher with logorrhea,” grumbles Alan Bishop. The “vocal-driven, collaged compositions” move along “on the verge of collapse,” notes the Canadian BlogTO. “Errant keys chime out over the heavy breathing of taxed strings, collapsing under their own weight." Surreal murk and jarring cacophony, from live electronics to varispeed tape to accompany such stage antics as cabbage-shredding, dropped ice cream, assaults upon empty pet food cans with steak knives, and various other mad-housewife-evoking delights.

Post-industrial project of sisters Rachal Spikula and Roxann Spikula, a metaphysical vision rather than stylistic approach. Their LP "Birth of an Older Much More Ugly Christ" on Hanson records is highly acclaimed; and "They Are Heating Up The Ovens Get the f*ck Out Now" on No Rent is a disquieting and considered elaboration of their work. But their 2016 double album "Natural Incapacity" on Helen Scarsdale Agency proved things are always darkest before they go completely black. Now enter the historic confines of the Peacock Lounge to find what lies below.
