Wareham is thrilled to announce a very special bonus event just in time for Valentines Day, Wendie Malick ("Hot in Cleveland," "Just Shoot Me") and Dan Lauria ("The Wonder Years." "Pitch") starring in LOVE LETTERS by A.R. Gurney.  "I have been wanting to bring Dan and Wendie to our stage ever since I started working here and now we have them together in the perfect show!" says Wareham.  LOVE LETTERS will perform for four performances only, Today, February 2 through Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

As part of The Old Globe's ongoing commitment to programs that serve all of San Diego County, the theatre announced today that on Saturday, February 4, applications will become available online for the Globe's 2017 Summer Shakespeare Studio for high school students-now named the Pam Farr Summer Shakespeare Studio. The applications, which will be accepted through April 1, will be accessible on February 4 at www.TheOldGlobe.org/studio-application. The four-week program is a unique opportunity for rising 9th - 12th graders and recent graduates not only to develop foundational skills for reading, interpreting, and performing Shakespeare's plays, but also to cultivate their own artistic voice through storytelling and creating original material inspired by deep, personal connections to Shakespeare.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses was adapted by Christopher Hampton in 1985 from an epistolary novel of the same title by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, 1782. Although an army general and never before a writer, it has been said de Laclos intended to (in his own words), 'write a work which departed from the ordinary, which made a noise, and which would remain on earth after [his] death'. It is universally agreed he achieved his ambitions with his masterpiece, Liaisons.

The 27th Annual San Diego Jewish Film Festival presented by the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS, will run February 8-19, 2017.  The 12-day Festival is the largest Jewish cultural event in San Diego and draws over 17,000 attendees annually and 97 film screenings. In March, a luxury train rolls into Old Town bringing nonstop laughter and mayhem. The madcap musical comedy, On the Twentieth Century, features the writing talents of Betty Comden and Adolph Greene. Original music was composed byCy Coleman, who was honored with Tony Awards for Best Original Score & Best Book (1978). This musical comedy team lent their unique comic genius and sophisticated wit to dozens of Broadway hits including On the Town and Bells are Ringing. On the Twentieth Century will be directed by Sean Murray. The production runs March 9 through April 30. Opening night for media is March 18.

Coronado Playhouse opens its 71st Season with Altar Boyz, from January 20 to February 19, 2017.  Returning to Coronado Playhouse, after last season's acclaimed, sell-out concert version, award-winning director and choreographer Michael Mizerany this time stages the full-length, all-singing, all-dancing production. Altar Boyz is the story of five small-town boys who, together, become an irreverent spiritual boy band sensation.  Audiences will join Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham on the last night of their Raise the Praise Tour as they attempt to save the world's souls, one screaming fan at a time.
