Out of the Ashes features renowned Repertory Dance Theatre alumnus Thayer Jonutz, who presents a multimedia performance merging two works: Hammer and Nail and Scorched. Through a blend of dance, spoken word, and theatrical storytelling, the production explores themes of resilience, identity, and the emotional labor of rebuilding. The work draws from Jonutz's personal experiences, including his upbringing in a construction family and reflections on loss, culminating in a powerful narrative that resonates with the audience. This immersive experience is enhanced by an original live soundscape created by a professor from Wayne State University, resulting in a rich auditory and visual environment.
