Espejos: Clean
by Christine Quintana | Spanish Translation & Adaptation by Paula Zelaya Cervantes
Directed by Dena Martinez
May 6 – June 7, 2026 Sacramento Premiere
Two worlds collide one evening at a high-end resort in Mexico, igniting a series of misunderstandings, miscalculations, and internal reckonings. Told entirely in English and Spanish – with respective supertitles – Espejos: Clean offers an eye-opening story of unlikely and meaningful connection.
“…A riveting drama showcasing a pair of vulnerable women who each come from very diverse backgrounds, economic levels, and, most significantly, native languages.” – BROADWAY WORLD
Capital Stage's Apprentice Company will present THE BROTHERS GRIMM SPECTACULATHON by Don Zolidis, directed by Lydia Crist and James Simpson, as the culmination of its yearlong training program. Tickets are free.
Capital Stage once again demonstrates its dedication to producing works that illuminate the intricacies of human relationships. Christine Quintana’s Espejos: Clean is a powerful production that explores assumptions and identity through storytelling in both English and Spanish. Director Dena Martinez relies on the strength of the script, capturing the characters' authentic experiences of tension, misunderstanding, and the stark contrast between privilege and need.
