The young gentleman Orlov, who had just graduated from a course at a German university and a brilliant singer, whose vocal and dramatic talent, according to contemporaries, led the audience in an indescribable joy, met once, all united their destinies. They watched it with delight and admiration, then with resentment and hostility, but a talent like that bestowed upon the nature of Turgenev and Pauline Viardot, one could not remain indifferent.
