'Endangered species' is a multi-layered play which goes into depth despite its pleasant facade. Zelenka's text is extremely sophisticated. It is full of references and allusions not only in terms of plot but also in the use of music and seemingly banal replicas which themselves often hide multiple deeper meanings. Not to mention the humor which is often stepped-up to absurdity. The cast is hilarious.
