The Ashland New Plays Festival will showcase new works by playwrights Shanna Allman, Minita Gandhi, Keiko Green, and Novid Parsi during its annual Fall Festival from October 16 to 20. This year's winning plays, selected from 350 submissions, explore themes of love, freedom, and loss through diverse narratives, including Allman’s story of a divorced woman seeking companionship with artificial intelligence, and Gandhi’s examination of grief and legacy in a widowed family. Each play will be presented in staged readings at SOU’s Main Stage Theater, accompanied by talk-backs and playwriting workshops, engaging the community in the creative process.
