In the year 1923, in the town of Zebulon, somewhere twixt the Atlantic coast and the Great Smoky Mountains, young love finds Alice Murphy (Erin Lindsey Krom) and Jimmy Ray Dobbs (Jerreme Rodriguez). Intimacy leads to divisions within the families, stories and decades are crossed and intertwined, and the stage for Front Porch Theatricals' bluegrass musical Bright Star is set.

Cross-Stitch Theater Company will officially launch this May with their inaugural production, 'Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice'. This classic story has been adapted for the stage by Pittsburgh local, Marsha Mayhak and is directed by Amy Dick. Closing a show that you have prided yourself in is never an easy task, especially when you put your literal blood, sweat, and tears into it (many personal injuries, but we're fine). A Midsummer Night's Dream will forever hold a special place in my heart.
