Whisper Sweetly, directed with crackerjack control and precision by Perovich. Mahon has created a world that is at once funny and terrifying. He has approached his creation with wild abandon, and the story is an hilarious nightmare.

As political theatre goes, Guillermo Calder n's KISS, Stray Cat Theatre's 16th Season opener, directed by Ron May, occupies the terrain between parody and reality, melodrama and documentary, laughter and catharsis. It is a play that works on a number of levels: startling an audience out of its comfort zone, engaging it in the shared discovery of uncomfortable and inconvenient truths, revealing the barriers that must be surmounted to achieve cross-cultural understanding. KISS runs through September 30th at Tempe Center for the Arts.

Shrewdly directed by the great Ilana Lydia, B3's searing production of My Love, My Lumberjack opened last Friday and runs for only two more performances, next weekend. The piece is presented on B3's modest, storefront stage, however the production feels remarkably eerie and magical - and, GLORY BE, the voices aren't amplified!

Live, on-stage singers, orchestra and conductor synchronize a newly-composed score from Patrick Morganelli with the 1961 film Hercules in the Haunted World, a fine sword-and-sandal tribute to mythology. Hercules vs Vampires comes to Tucson's Fox Theatre (17 W. Congress St.) on Sunday, October 15 at 2 p.m. and Phoenix's Symphony Hall (75 N. 2nd St.) on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 22 at 2 p.m.

Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert presents the hit romantic comedy Kiss and Tell. Playing Monday and Tuesday nights from September 12th through November 14th. This hilarious Broadway and Hollywood smash, features a family feud that begins when two teenage best friends, Corliss and Mildred, come up with a scheme to sell kisses at a USO bazaar. Endearing love plots and madcap mistaken identities evolve from there, including the secret marriage of Mildred to a young Air Force officer and a prospective visit from the stork. Their bickering parents precipitate more problems than they're able to solve, including a lawsuit and countersuit.
