David Morse appeared on Good Morning America to discuss returning to his role in How I Learned to Drive 25 years after doing the play Off-Broadway. This Broadway premiere of Paula Vogel's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece How I Learned to Drive reunites the two original stars, Morse and Tony-winner Mary-Louise Parker.

Just last night, Manhattan Theatre Club celebrated opening night of the Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive, at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Skeleton Crew, the new play by Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, is taking Broadway by storm at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where it opened on January 26.

As BroadwayWorld reported last night, last night's performance of Lackawanna Blues was canceled due to a recurrence of an ongoing back injury for star, writer, and director, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, but it is now officially open at  MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre!

Today we rewind to 2007, when Tereasa Rebeck's first Broadway show, Mauritius, opened at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre). The play featured a all-star cast, including Alison Pill, F. Murray Abraham, Dylan Baker, Katie Finneran, and Bobby Cannavale in his Broadway debut! The play focuses on two half-sisters, Jackie and Mary, who inherit a stamp collection which might be worth a fortune. 

Today we rewind with LoveMusik, a musical which ran on Broadway for just over a month in 2007. LoveMusik is a musical written by Alfred Uhry, using a selection of music by Kurt Weill. The story explores the romance and lives of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya, based on Speak Low (When You Speak Love): The Letters of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya. Uhry and Prince worked on LoveMusik for four years to develop it into a stage work. The story spans over 25 years, from the first meeting of Lenya and Weill as struggling young artists, to their popularity in Europe and America, to Weill's death from a heart attack at age 50. The Broadway production ran at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman), starring Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Actors Fund will bring back the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, for a one-night only benefit reading on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 7:30 pm at The Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th St.). The evening will star Charles Busch in the title role, originally played by Linda Lavin, and assembles the entire original all-star Broadway cast including Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Tony Roberts and Anil Kumar as well as original director Lynne Meadow. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.

The Samuel J. Friedman Theatre  was the place to be last night as Florian Zeller's new play, The Height of the Storm officially opened. Translated by two-time Tony Award Winner Christopher Hampton (Les Liaisons Dangereuses) and directed by Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Jonathan Kent (Long Day's Journey into Night), the play features Olivier and Tony Award Winner Jonathan Pryce,  three-time Olivier Award Winner Eileen Atkins, Lucy Cohu, Amanda Drew, James Hillier and Lisa O'Hare.

The production opens tomorrow, Wednesday April 24, at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Rehearsals are underway for MTC's INK, which will begin previews Tuesday, April 2 prior to a Wednesday, April 24 opening night at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Two-time Olivier Award winner Bertie Carvel (Matilda) will reprise his Olivier Award-winning performance as Rupert Murdoch and Olivier Award winner Jonny Lee Miller ('Elementary,' Frankenstein) will play the editor of The Sun, Larry Lamb.
