Manhattan Theatre Club is presenting the Broadway premiere of Skeleton Crew, written by Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production opens tomorrow, Wednesday, January 26, at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Today we rewind to 2007, when Tereasa Rebeck's first Broadway show, Mauritius, opened at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre). The play featured a all-star cast, including Alison Pill, F. Murray Abraham, Dylan Baker, Katie Finneran, and Bobby Cannavale in his Broadway debut! The play focuses on two half-sisters, Jackie and Mary, who inherit a stamp collection which might be worth a fortune.

Today we rewind with LoveMusik, a musical which ran on Broadway for just over a month in 2007. LoveMusik is a musical written by Alfred Uhry, using a selection of music by Kurt Weill. The story explores the romance and lives of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya, based on Speak Low (When You Speak Love): The Letters of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya. Uhry and Prince worked on LoveMusik for four years to develop it into a stage work. The story spans over 25 years, from the first meeting of Lenya and Weill as struggling young artists, to their popularity in Europe and America, to Weill's death from a heart attack at age 50. The Broadway production ran at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman), starring Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Actors Fund will bring back the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, for a one-night only benefit reading on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 7:30 pm at The Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th St.). The evening will star Charles Busch in the title role, originally played by Linda Lavin, and assembles the entire original all-star Broadway cast including Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Tony Roberts and Anil Kumar as well as original director Lynne Meadow. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.

Rehearsals are underway for MTC's INK, which will begin previews Tuesday, April 2 prior to a Wednesday, April 24 opening night at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Two-time Olivier Award winner Bertie Carvel (Matilda) will reprise his Olivier Award-winning performance as Rupert Murdoch and Olivier Award winner Jonny Lee Miller ('Elementary,' Frankenstein) will play the editor of The Sun, Larry Lamb.
