New City Music Theatre, formerly Cleveland Musical Theatre, held the first production under its new name and reinvigorated mission on Thursday, August 26 when it presented Jason Robert Brown’s seminal work Songs for a New World. Reimagined through a contemporary storytelling lens and performed by an expanded, star-studded cast including Liz Calloway, Jason Gotay, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Mary Kate Morrissey, and Ximone Rose, among others, at Radial Park at Halletts Point in Queens.

Ease on down the road with this fantastical production of The Wiz at Theatre Under The Stars! The show began performances on October 23, and will run through November 4 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

BroadwayWorld has a first look at Theatre Under The Stars' upcoming production of The Wiz! Leading off the cast is Salome B. Smith in the role of 'Dorothy'. Smith is a recent graduate of Alabama State University where she performed in many theatrical productions including The Color Purple, Rent and Carousel. Marva Hicks is playing the role of 'The Wiz'. Hicks has appeared on Broadway in Motown The Musical, Caroline or Change, and The Lion King. Yvette Clark will play the roles of 'Evilene', 'Glinda', and 'Aunt Em'. Clark has appeared in numerous regional productions including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Showboat, Chicago, and Hairspray. Simone Gundy will play the role of 'Addaperle'. Gundy returns to TUTS after starring in the 2017 production of Memphis. Paris Nix is playing 'Tin Man'. Nix was last seen on Broadway in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Allyson Kaye Daniel is 'Lion'. Daniel most recently appeared at TUTS as 'Miss Jones' in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Her other credits include Newsies, Ghost, and We Will Rock You. Christopher Campbell, who just appeared in the TUTS production of Oklahoma! as Will Parker, will play the role of Scarecrow

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) presents the new holiday classic, Elf The Musical, running tomorrow, Dec. 6 - 22 at Hobby Center's Sarofim Hall. Making his TUTS debut as the loveable 'elf' Buddy is Tommy J. Dose. He played Alfred Doolittle in the national tour of My Fair Lady and has circulated the regional theatre scene with companies including the Fulton Theatre, the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, and the Cumberland County Playhouse. Walnut Street Theatre opens its landmark 205th season with the groundbreaking 21st century musical IN THE HEIGHTS.
