For our final act of 30 Days of Tony 2019, we're flashing back to last year's big winner, the heartfelt musical, The Band's Visit, which walked off with TEN 2018 Tony Awards, including Best Musical!
On last night's episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' the cast of Tony Award-winning Broadway musical 'The Band's Visit' performed a scaled-down version of 'Omar Sharif' with Katrina Lenk.
On this day in 2017, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, The Band's Visit, opened on Broadway!
With the support of Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS (http:www.broadwaycares.org) and in partnership with When We All Vote (www.whenweallvote.org), stars of Broadway have come together to form #BeltTheVote, a nonpartisan social media campaign encouraging all people to register and vote - most urgently on November 6th. The nationwide movement, made up of theaters, schools and various artistic communities, is dedicated to giving America's theater lovers the information and tools they need to get out to the polls and vote.
This week's performers will include: Come From Away (Petrina Bromley, Geno Carr, Alex Finke, De'Lon Grant, Joel Hatch, Tony LePage, Lee MacDougall, Julie Reiber, Caesar Samayoa, Pearl Sun, Astrid Van Wieren, and Sharon Wheatley); Kinky Boots (Mia Gentile, John Jeffrey Martin, and Stephane Duret); The Band's Visit (Katrina Lenk, John Cariani, Ari'el Stachel, and Etai Benson); This Ain't No Disco (Will Connolly, Tony d'Alelio, Hannah Florence, Chilina Kennedy, Peter LaPrade, Krystal Mackie, Nicole Medoro, Ian Paget, Theo Stockman, and Samantha Marie Ware)
