Walnut Street Theatre has released first look footage of 1776, Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone's classic award-winning Broadway musical, now playing through May 31, 2026 as part of Philadelphia's celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The cast of 1776 appeared on Good Morning America to perform 'Sit Down, John.' The performance included Crystal Lucas-Perry as 'John Adams,' Gisela Adisa as 'Robert Livingston,' Nancy Anderson as 'George Read,' Becca Ayers as 'Col. Whilst studying together at Guildford School of Acting in 2011, co-creators Jessica Spray and James Wilson-Taylor created a 10-minute musical about Doctor Who that they have since developed into an hour-long show called I NEED A DOCTOR, under the guidance of renowned theatre director Ben Occhipinti, The Pleasance Theatre Trust, producer Anna Haigh and general managers Stormy Teacup Theatre.
