Today we rewind to 2016, when Bright Star arrived on Broadway. The musical opened on March 24 at the Cort Theatre, where it ran for 109 performances.

The sun is gonna shine today because its the birthday of the legendary actor and comedian Steve Martin! In honor of the occasion, we're looking back at his Tony-nominated musical Bright Star that he wrote the score for with Edie Brickell. Carmen Cusack made an appearance during Paul Alexander Nolan's show at Feinstein's/54 Below last night. The pair performed "Whoa Mama" by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell from the musical Bright Star, in which they both starred.

The Tony Award nominated musical 'Bright Star' is currently running through November 19, 2017 at the Ahmanson Theatre. Presented by Center Theatre Group, the Tony Award-nominated Best Musical, with music, lyrics and story by Grammy, Emmy and Oscar winner Steve Martin and Grammy winner Edie Brickell, will be directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbieand choreographed by Josh Rhodes. Ghostlight Records releases the album of the hit musical A BRONX TALE in digital formats today, Friday, March 24 with CDs in stores and online Friday, May 12.
