Juilliard's Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts presents Jean-Philippe Rameau's opera, Hippolyte et Aricie, conducted by Stephen Stubbs and directed by Stephen Wadsworth with choreographed by Zack Winokur. The opera features singers from Juilliard's Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts, Juilliard Historical Performance's period-instrument ensemble Juilliard415, and dancers from Juilliard's Dance Division. 

Before every show, Straight star Jenna Gavigan warms up with Disney songs. Last week, she had her fellow cast members Jake Epstein and Thomas E. Sullivan participate in 'The Disney Challenge,' where they were played a clip from a Disney song and had to correctly name the movie it came from. It was a close call - watch the video below to see who won!

Siblings Vanya (Ross Lehman) and Sonia (Janet Ulrich Brooks) have spent their adult years trapped in mundane lives at their family's cottage, caring for their ailing parents. Meanwhile, their self-involved sister Masha (Mary Beth Fisher), a glamorous movie star, has traveled the world in decadent style. After their soothsayer/cleaning woman Cassandra (E. Faye Butler) warns Vanya and Sonia of impending doom, Masha arrives unannounced, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike (Jordan Brown), who sparks a friendship with the beautiful girl next door Nina (Rebecca Buller) much to Masha's dismay. When Masha reveals plans that will upend the family, long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance. The creative team includes Charlie Corcoran (sets), Amy Clark (costumes), Robert Perry (lights) andRichard Woodbury (sound). Alden Vasquez is the production stage manager and Neena Arndt is the dramaturg. 

The Irish Repertory Theatre welcomes the return of the critically-acclaimed revival of Conor McPherson's THE WEIR, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly, this summer. THE WEIR began previews on Tuesday, June 30th and will be performed through Sunday, August 23rd at the DR2 Theatre, located at 103 East 15th Street in Union Square (the Irish Rep's temporary home during renovation of its home base in Chelsea). Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic DirectorJohn Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, continues its 2014/15 Season with Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular, directed by Jessica Stone. The production runs January 10-February 1, 2015, with the opening night on tonight, January 16 at 8pm. The all-star director of TV and film Garry Marshall stopped by ABC's Good Morning America to discus bringing the dark noir new Off-Broadway play BILLY & RAY to life at New York's Vineyard Theatre.

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre presents the final production of its 2013-2014 Season, a revival of Gardner McKay's SEA MARKS, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly. The romantic two-hander stars Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Xanthe Elbrick (CORAM BOY, Irish Rep's CANDIDA) and Patrick Fitzgerald (Irish Rep's GIBRALTAR). SEA MARKS will be performed now through June 15th on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). The Press Opening is Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7PM. Charlayne Woodard's newest play, 'The Night Watcher,' opened on Sunday, November 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre.
