The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street), hosted by repeat emcee Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty'). The Drama Desk Awards are the only major New York City theater honors for which productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway compete against each other in the same categories. LogoTV.com series "EastSiders" joins the relatively short list of programs in television history that have tackled the controversial topic of abortion. Since Bea Arthur's "Maude" became the first television character to have an abortion in 1972, only a handful of series including "Six Feet Under," "Friday Night Lights," and most recently "Parenthood" have had characters actually go through with the procedure. In the episode, which debuted yesterday, May 14th at 3pm ET, Kathy (Constance Wu) decides to terminate her pregnancy without notifying her boyfriend Ian (John Halbach). Click below to watch!

On Monday, September 14, 2009, Five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury hosted a memorial for friends and family of Tony and Emmy Award-winning entertainment icon Beatrice Arthur at Broadway's Majestic Theatre (247 W. 44th St.). One of the highlights of the touching, humorous, tender and emotional afternoon was the video played of Angela and Bea singing 'Bosum Buddies' from MAME when the two reunited to sing it at the Tony Awards.

Stage and Screen star Beatrice (Bea) Arthur passed away yesterday, Saturday, April 25 at age 86. Clark Johnsen of the Mary Poppins Tour and his fellow castmates Nick Sanchez and Justin Keyes, performed a wonderful vocal tribute to the late Arthur that we are happy to share with you here on BWW TV.
