Made up of a quirky cast of earnest hard-workers and entitled hangers-on, can the White Star team get its (ahem) act together to distribute toilet paper when it's most needed?

Well, we did it! Broadway Sessions recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary with a full blown SUPER SHOW! We invited back some of our favorite performers to recreate some of our favorite musical moments. We also had some incredible new memories made! Our All-Star cast dazzled the SRO room. This past Thursday Broadway Sessions celebrated the 5th birthday of our beloved and uber-talented musical director, Joshua Stephen Kartes. Joshua had but one birthday wish- he wanted to blow out his candles like 'Bobby' in Sondheim's masterpiece, Company. So that's exactly what we gave him!

Time really does fly, especially when you're having fun. And, let's be honest, we have a lot of fun at Broadway Sessions. So much so that nine years has flown by ever so quickly. And what better way to celebrate nine years of hurt special brand of musical theatre mania than with an "Inappropriate" Anniversary Show. We welcomed back a roster of Broadway Sessions favorites to share wildly inappropriate tunes and memories. The results were memorable, well, for most of our audience at least ;)

We here at Broadway Sessions went all out to celebrate this holiday season with our annual All Star Holiday Show Spectacular. Be prepared for kids, puppets, balloons, famous drag queens and so much more. Starring Paige Davis (Chicago), Jinkx Monsoon and Alaska (RuPaul's Drag Race), Frankie James Grande (Rock of Ages), Charl Brown (Motown), Betsy Struxness (Hamilton), Adrianna Hicks (The Color Purple), Leslie Becker (Amazing Grace), Aaron Young (Fiddler on the Roof), Bryan Fenkart (Memphis, Nerds), Gaelen Gilliland (Honeymoon in Vegas), Adinah Alexander (Kinky Boots), Jelani Remy (The Lion King), Matthew Marks (Book of Mormon), Molly Tynes (Pippin), Nathan Lucrezio (Aladdin), Devin Ilaw (Les Mis), Zurin Villanueva and CK Edwards (Shuffle Along) the kids from Matilda, Imari Hardon and the cast of Avenue Q. And of course, our signature 12 Days of Christmas!

I remember the first time I heard Songs For a New World. Mind. Blown. Melodic like Andrew Lloyd Webber, cerebral like Sondheim. Perfect. Of course now, Jason Robert Brown is a living legend and one of the most prolific theatre composers in history.

Gotta Dance, the new Broadway-bound musical comedy about professional basketball's first ever aged 60-and-older dance team, recently extended one week on the heels of its first performance in Chicago on December 13. The pre-Broadway World Premiere of Gotta Dance will now play through January 17, 2016, at Broadway In Chicago's Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe St, Chicago), before opening on Broadway in the Fall of 2016. The Theatre School at DePaul University will honor Andre De Shields with the 2015 Award for Excellence in the Arts tonight, November 9 at the Atlantic Ballroom of the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel (221 North Columbus Drive), Chicago, IL. Broadway's celebration of the SCOTUS ruling to legalize gay marriage ranged from in-depth Facebook posts to public speeches. Following Friday night's performance, KINKY BOOTS star Billy Porter took center stage to address the crowd and share what the ruling means to him personally. Check out the full video below!

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was held earlier today, May 27th in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. Hosted by HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH's Darren Criss, Broadway's best turned out for the annual performance - including Kinky Boots' Mia Gentile, who performed 'The History of Wrong Guys'!

Kinky Boots, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning hit musical, celebrated two-year anniversary on Broadway on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Featuring a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein, and direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell, opened to rave reviews on April 4, 2013, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St), where it's played 835 performances for over a million people... and counting! The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots is still bringing audiences to their feet nightly at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). The show has enlisted the help of Broadway's favorite pint-sized critic, Iain Armitage, to spread the message of the musical to kids everywhere. IMAGINE: A Concert of Hope, a benefit concert to raise funds to benefit Cancer Research through the Brian Werbel Memorial Fund at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center was held earlier this week at (le) poisson rouge (158 Bleecker St.). All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Brian Werbel Memorial Fund. BroadwayWorld was there for the special night and you can check out highlights below!
