Review: & JULIET Breaks Free From Shakespeare’s Ending in Vancouver
by Alyson Eng - Oct 4, 2026

Before & JULIET even officially began, the Queen Elizabeth Theatre already felt like it was getting ready for a pop concert. A glowing pink sign sat at the centre of the stage while instrumental versions of songs that would soon make their way into the show played in the background. For one of Broadway Across Canada’s most anticipated stops in Vancouver this season, the packed theatre seemed more than ready for what was coming. Then again, it’s hard not to feel at home when you already know most of the soundtrack.

Review: & JULIET Sparkles at Edmonton's Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
by Sarah Dussome - Sep 24, 2026

In 1590s London, William Shakespeare is just hours from debuting his latest masterpiece: Romeo & Juliet. However, his wife, Anne, is less than pleased with the tragic tale’s ending. After much pleading, she convinces him to re-write the melancholy fate of the show’s heroine, Juliet. Sure enough, the grieving teen casts aside her dagger, packs a bag, and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Review: & JULIA at Stage Operettenhaus Hamburg
by Konstantin Georgiou - Nov 18, 2024

Review: HAMILTON at Stage Operettenhaus Hamburg
by Martin Ganeider - Oct 7, 2022

Lin-Manuel Miranda's HAMILTON brought up a never before seen hype on Broadway. A Musical about America's Ten Dollar Founding Father. What sounds like a School Lesson became one of Broadway's fascinating and top-selling shows. A multi-awarded Musical revolution and still the hottest ticket in town. How might a show connected to US History, full of complex rap and hip-hop rhymes, work in a different country with a foreign native language?
