Artistic Director Rupert Goold today announces the Almeida Theatre's new season.

The West End transfer of Tennessee Williams' intoxicating and rarely staged classic, Summer and Smoke, follows a sold-out and critically lauded run at the Almeida Theatre. Directed by the Almeida's Associate Director Rebecca Frecknall with the full cast reprising their roles for the West End run, this innovative new production of Summer and Smoke has a limited run from 10 November 2018 - 19 January 2019, at the Duke Of York's Theatre, with press night on Tuesday 20 November at 7pm.

Mayfesto is the Tron Theatre's mini-festival of edgy and provocative new work - now very firmly fixed in our annual calendar. This year, the festival will present new drama exploring the brutal complexities of family life - situations where not everything is black and white.

The centrepiece of the Traverse Theatre's Spring/Summer 2018 season, produced in association with the National Theatre of Scotland, Gut is the world premiere production of Frances Poet's debut full-length original play. Citizens Theatre has a long history of working with inspirational women's groups in the community and today (Thursday 8 March) they are running a celebratory day at local Gorbals initiative 'Tomorrow's Women' as part of their year-round creative programme, working alongside women who are engaging in alternatives to custodial services.

Joining the previously announced Patsy Ferran are Seb Carrington, Nancy Crane, Eric MacLennan, Forbes Masson, Matthew Needham, Tok Stephen and Anjana Vasan. The production is designed by Tom Scutt, with lighting design by Lee Curran, composition by Angus MacRae, sound by Carolyn Downing and casting by Julia Horan.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) is proud to bring George Brant's Marie and Rosetta to the Allen Theatre stage. Marie and Rosetta chronicles the story of 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Early Influence Inductee Sister Rosetta Tharpe and her counterpart Marie Knight as they changed the landscape of modern music. Miche Braden will make her return to Cleveland Play House as Sister Rosetta Tharpe alongside CPH newcomer Chaz Hodges as Marie Knight. Directed by Neil Pepe, Marie and Rosetta runs January 20 through February 11, 2018 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.
