The Traverse Theatre has announced that playwright and director Zinnie Harris joins the company as Associate Director from April.

Just last week, Dorothy Berwin, Mark Lee and Tom Kirdahy announced the second winners of the Berwin Lee Playwrights Award. The Berwin Lee Award was created to foster and promote the craft of playwriting in both the United States and the United Kingdom and to encourage the writing and production of plays. Maxine Peake will return to The Royal Court to appear in Zinnie Harris' How to Hold Your Breath, with full casting to be announced soon. The production, written by Zinnie Harris, will be directed by the Royal Court's Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, premiering on 4 February at Jerwood Theatre Downstairs.

Casting is announced today for God Bless the Child, a new play at the Royal Court Theatre written by Molly Davies and directed by Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, premiering on 12 November at Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.
