Dorothy Berwin, Mark Lee and Tom Kirdahy recently announced the second winners of the Berwin Lee Playwrights Award. The Berwin Lee Award was created to foster and promote the craft of playwriting in both the United States and the United Kingdom and to encourage the writing and production of plays. A reception will be held in their honor in New York City tonight, March 19, 2015.

The first pictures are released today for How to Hold Your Breath, a new play by Zinnie Harris. Directed by the Royal Court's Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, the cast includes Christine Bottomley, Neil D'Souza, Peter Forbes, Maxine Peake, Siobhan McSweeney, Maxine Peake, Danusia Samal and Michael Shaeffer. Maxine Peake will return to The Royal Court to appear in Zinnie Harris' How to Hold Your Breath, with full casting to be announced soon. The production, written by Zinnie Harris, will be directed by the Royal Court's Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, premiering on 4 February at Jerwood Theatre Downstairs.

59E59 Theaters will welcome Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre, in association with Bisno Productions, with the NYC premiere of THE OPPONENT, written by Brett Neveu and directed by Karen Kessler. THE OPPONENT begins performances on Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 7. Press opening is Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

The Royal Court Theatre announces a new season of work today, Friday 27 June, including new plays from Molly Davies, Zinnie Harris, Rory Mullarkey, Tim Price and Jack Thorne; a debut play from first-time playwright Diana Nneka Atuona; a collaboration between scientist Chris Rapley, playwright and director Duncan Macmillan and director Katie Mitchell and a new production for young people and their families - Enda Walsh's new adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Twits.
