'George M. Cohan: The Ultimate Collection'-- a specially priced three-CD set celebrating the father of the modern Broadway musical--is being released on July 4th, which Cohan always claimed as his birthday.

Following her highly-anticipated Barbie movie, Greta Gerwig will be directing a film adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix. Gerwig will team up with the streamer after previously working with them on White Noise. She will direct at least two of the Narnia films.

The Y.E.S. program's young actors bring the beloved characters from this immortal children's classic to life - from Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher and Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; to Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other and Charlotte, who proves to be 'a true friend and a good writer.'

Charlotte Morris' has released a new single 'Your Number One'. The song, from her upcoming fall album, is based on personal experience. Morris reflects, 'There were amazing times, but there was also a lot of pain. Talk about workin' through it ... it was tough, but I feel like I grew stronger from that heartbreak - and I got a good song out of it.'

The season will open with the Chicago premiere of the hilarious romantic musical GAY CARD, return to the British tradition of holiday pantomimes with Tom Whalley's very adult SLEEPING WITH BEAUTY, and close with Joe Calarco's all-male present-day re-imagining of ROMEO AND JULIET, SHAKESPEARE'S R & J.

The award-winning stage play, Fancy Maids will return to the stage this August. After being honored with 'Outstanding Play' at Ken Davenport's Rave Theater Festival, a new and expanded version of the play will premier at SoHo Rep's Walkerspace, with a run from August 9th through the 13th.

Raise Your Hands! The Off Broadway cast recording of The Gospel According to Heather, a new musical with a book, music and lyrics by Paul Gordon. will be released on JAY Records. Produced by John Yap, the recording will feature the original cast of the Off Broadway production who gathered this week at Manhattan Studios to lay down the tracks.

It was a part of life only understood completely, if experienced, and its impact continues to be felt today in ways you can sometimes predict, although oftentimes it invokes unexpected memories that take you completely unaware. That explains why I’ve taken so long to compose this review of Falsettos – which ends its three-weekend run this weekend at Nashville’s The Barbershop Theatre in another superb Street Theatre Company musical production – and which I saw last week during its last Sunday matinee performance.

Forty years of productions and a Disney movie have made the show cuddly, but this CLO production restores the weirdness and wackiness at the show's edges.
