Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will host its annual benefit to support the Center's programs on Monday, September 26, 2016, in BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater and Howard Gilman Performance Space. Curated by Thierry de Duve, Evelyn Kranes Kossak Professor of Art History, Nahum Tevet: Works on Glass, 1972-1975 presents an important and under-recognized series from the artist's oeuvre. This exhibition will provide a critical examination of this series in relationship with the broader art historical context of global conceptualism and minimalism dominant in the late 1960s and 1970s. Tevet's works on glass are both unique and perfectly in tune with the experiments conducted internationally by the most advanced artists of their time. They are radically modernist in every sense: uncompromising, experimental, and taking their own conventions as their subject matter.

Presented for the first time in the Southern Tier, Chenango River Theatre's final show of their 10th season features the regional premiere of Taking Sides, a provocative 1995 Holocaust drama written by Ronald Harwood (Academy-Award winning writer ofThe Pianist and The Dresser).  Set in the ruins of post-war Berlin and loosely based onworld famous German conductor Wilhelm Furtwangler's own diaries, this provocative drama explores Furtwangler's possible complicity in Nazi war crimes.

Esteemed conductor Sir Simon Rattle concludes his two-season Perspectives series at Carnegie Hall this fall, leading four concerts with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Ensemble Connect, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
