Photo Flash: First Look at CRT's WOMEN IN JEOPARDY

By:

For the fifth production in their 47th annual summer season, Cortland Repertory Theatre will present the hysterical, contemporary comedy Women in Jeopardy! written by Wendy MacLeod. Performances will run from August 15 - 25 with evening show times at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 17, 19, and 22 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org, using the online service ETix. CRT cautions that this is the only approved online ticket service; other online sites charge significantly higher rates for tickets and are NOT approved by CRT.

Murder. Book clubs. Wine. Antique Dentist Equipment. And Uggs! It's Thelma and Louise meets The First Wives Club in this new vibrant and hysterical comedy! 40-something divorcees and best friends Mary and Jo are suspicious of their friend Liz's new boyfriend Jackson, and not just because he's a weirdo dentist. Thanks to the mysterious disappearance of his hygienist, they suspect he might be a serial killer! When they trade their wine glasses for spy glasses, imaginations run wild, especially when they involve Liz's none-too-bright daughter and her on-again, off-again "snowboarder dude" boyfriend. It's the recipe for a hilarious off-road mystery adventure! The Boston Globe calls it "modern, lively and loads of fun".

Women in Jeopardy! is directed by Kathryn Markey in her CRT directorial debut. Charlie Jhaye, previously seen in CRT's farce The Fox on the Fairway, returns to play Mary with Stefanie Londino appearing as Jo and Rebecca Mason-Wygal as Liz, both making their CRT debuts. Nicholas Wilder plays Jackson, having previously appeared at CRT in The 39 Steps, Rumors and The Ladies Man. Rounding out the cast is CRT Performing Intern Amanda Walker as Liz's daughter Amanda and Ethan Rich in his CRT debut as Trenner.

Caroline Gully Brown continues her season as Stage Manager. Scenic design is handled by newcomer Anna Grigo, with Orli Nativ also making her CRT debut as Costume Designer. Mary Lana Rice, previously a CRT Master Electrician returns as Lighting Designer, while her husband Seth Asa continues the summer as Sound Designer. Andrew Carney continues as Props Designer and Dana White Jr. continues as Technical Director.

CRT continues "Friday Night Talk Backs" at which a Q & A session with the actors, designers and crew takes place after select Friday evening performances. Tickets are also on sale for the final CRT show of the summer, "The Rat Pack Lounge" which runs from August 29 - September 8 at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson Street, Cortland. Call 800-427-6160 or visit www.cortlandrep.org for more information.
