Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the cast and creative team for the Theater's upcoming production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, staged by Artistic Director Barbara Gaines, October 31a?"December 22, 2019.

Hartford Stage will open its 2019/2020 season with Quixote Nuevo, an inspired, Tejano music-filled, contemporary reimagining of the Miguel de Cervantes classic Don Quixote, by award-winning playwright Octavio Solis. Performances run  through Sunday, October 13.

Continuing its commitment to bringing free Shakespeare to the community and strengthening audience engagement with the arts, The Public Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, will mount its MOBILE UNIT again this fall with a free three-week tour to venues across the city of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE, directed by LA Williams. The Mobile Unit's free tour (October 24-November 16) brings Shakespeare and other works to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts by visiting correctional facilities, homeless shelters, social service organizations, and other community organizations. Following the tour to the five boroughs, there will also be a free three-week engagement of MEASURE FOR MEASURE in The Public's Shiva Theater running Monday, November 18 through Sunday, December 8, with an official press opening on Friday, November 22.

Closing out a long year spent on the road, singer/songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle has revealed a final music video to accompany her 2018 album On Dark Horses. Directed by Mitch Wells (Thou) and starring the song's muse and inspiration, Blake Armstrong, the video is poignant and affecting and further solidifies Rundle's place as one of music's most dextrous minds. 

Artistic Director Brigid Larmour today announces programming to complete Watford Palace Theatre's season for September 2019 - June 2020, following the world première of Mushy: Lyrically Speaking earlier this month. Amas Musical Theatre is seeking an actor to play Shakespeare's Romeo, who has time-slipped into 1960's Brooklyn, for the upcoming premiere production (January 2020) of a?oeRomeo and Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn,a?? with a book by Mark Saltzman and music based on classic Italian melodies. Tony and Emmy nominee Dylan Baker (La Bête, Happiness, The Good Wife) has joined the cast of Medea, Simon Stone's contemporary rewrite of Euripides' tragedy. The production makes its US premiere at the Harvey Theater at BAM Strong. Previews begin on January 12 with opening set for Jan 30.
