Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, continues its tradition of producing exceptional, Broadway caliber musicals in 2014 with a triple play that's sure to thrill theatergoers: the devilishly funny Damn Yankees - with a Fenway twist - will run from April 11 - June 21; the uplifting and joyous Fiddler on the Roof will run from June 27 - September 7; and the World Premiere musical based on the classic film from Universal Pictures, Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn will run from September 19 - November 30, 2014.
Variety reports that Paramount's 1942 movie musical HOLIDAY INN will premiere onstage next fall at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. The musical will be produced via Universal Stage Productions -- known for its work with Broadway's Wicked, Billy Elliot, Bring It On and Porgy and Bess.
This week thirty young dancers will take to the stage at the Victoria Palace Theatre as Ballet Girls in the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Earlier this month the show announced the release of over new 570,000 tickets taking booking to 16 May 2015 during which time the internationally award-winning production will celebrate 10 years in the West End. Universal Stage Productions, Working Title Films, Old Vic Productions and NETworks Presentations, LLC announced today, in association with Time for Fun (T4F), that the North American Tour of Billy Elliot the Musical will travel to South America for a limited three-week engagement from Friday, August 2, to Sunday, August 18, at Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. Based on the international smash-hit film and featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry and choreography by Peter Darling Billy Elliot the Musical has earned critical acclaim around the world and was the winner of ten 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
