Philly's funniest friends, Artistic Director at Act II Playhouse, Tony Braithwaite, and Producing Artistic Director at 1812 Productions, Jennifer Childs, have created and are sharing the spotlight in a new comedy cabaret, Together Again For the First Time. Music Direction and piano accompaniment are by Owen Robbins. Reflecting the pace and style of classic comedy duo Mike Nichols and Elaine May, Braithwaite and Childs merge their wit and musical chops in a high-energy performance of songs, sketches and hilarious asides.

When Tony Braithwaite set out to direct Biloxi Blues at Act II Playhouse, he had no idea what a tribute it would become. Legendary playwright, Neil Simon, passed away a week before opening. Something Braithwaite feared as Simon was upping in age, but with the days leading up to production and the Opening Night reception, he did this Bard justice. As did this impeccable cast and production team.

Herb, a Hollywood screenwriter (played by Artistic Director Tony Braithwaite), is surprised when his forgotten teenage daughter Libby (played by Jessica Riloff) reappears. Her arrival complicates his relationship with his girlfriend, Steph (played by Tracie Higgins).

Retreat to Broadway Hosts NEWSIES Discussion and Q&A with Tommy Bracco

St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia is one of four high schools chosen nationally to pilot Disney's school version of Newsies. Retreat to Broadway is hosting a Pre-Show Discussion and Q&A event with one of the stars of the Tony-Award winning Broadway production of Newsies, Tommy Bracco. Tommy also stars in the movie musical version of Newsies currently streaming on Netflix. The one hour discussion and question-and- answer-session starts at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3 at St. Joseph's Prep. Immediately following the pre-show program is an optional photo op and meet & greet with Tommy.
