The longlist for the annual Evening Standard Theatre Awards has been announced, and includes Dame Judi Dench, Dame Helen Mirren, James McAvoy and Dominic West.

London's West End theater producers Michael Harrison and David Ian's screen-to-stage adaptation of the 1992 massive film 'The Bodyguard,' which originally starred the late Whitney Houston, who played the fictional singing superstar Rachel Marron, and Kevin Costner, who played the title role, in the celluloid version, have recently released a new promo trailer for 'The Bodyguard's' ongoing run at the Adelphi Theatre in London (Strand, London WC2R 0NS, United Kingdom).

The full cast is Lesley Manville (Helene Alving), Brian McCardie(Jacob Engstrand), Charlene McKenna (Regina Engstrand), Jack Lowden (Oswald Alving) and Will Keen (Pastor Manders).

Tonight, Monday 9 September 2013, multi award-winning recording artist Beverley Knight joins the cast of the hit West End musical The Bodyguard in the lead role of Oscar-nominated superstar Rachel Marron. Music Theatre of Wichita kicks off its 42nd summer season this week with the first of its five large-scale productions. With the theme 'The British Are Coming!,' all five titles this summer are linked, by theme or origin, to the United Kingdom.

Having grown up on Monty Python reruns and films, it doesn't take a lot to get me excited about seeing a production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT. The hilarious hit musical is making a gloriously triumphant return to Houston in its first locally produced performance at Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS). The First National Tour enjoyed a four week run in the summer of 2007 that was co-produced by Broadway Across America - Houston and TUTS, and because of popular demand TUTS decided to produce the show again.

Describing the process of making a show come to life through his work, Tim Hatley said 'As a Theatre Designer, it's always a challenge to design a stage show that is based on a well-known book or film. Theatre has a visual language that is very different to film, and it's my job to create and develop visual ideas, make them specific and take advantage of a live theatrical environment.' He added: 'As a designer for both stage and screen, I have come to depend on the brilliance of Swarovski. There is simply no other crystal range giving choice of size, colour and sheer sparkle. The moment a stage light hits a Swarovski Element, there is magic. For The Bodyguard the Musical I have embellished leading lady Heather Headley's costumes with thousands of crystals.'
