GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has announced that Unknown Soldier: Original Cast Recording – one of the final scores from the beloved late Obie Award-winning songwriter Michael Friedman – is available in digital and streaming formats today, Friday, September 24, which would have been Friedman’s 46th birthday.

A Sherlock Carol, a new holiday play, will star Broadway favorites Drew McVety (Billy Elliot, Spamalot) as Sherlock Holmes and Thom Sesma (Sweeney Todd, Pacific Overtures) as Ebenezer Scrooge, and more.

Second Stage Theater has announced full casting for the off-Broadway production of Rajiv Joseph’s LETTERS OF SURESH. The production will feature Ali Ahn, Ramiz Monsef, Kellie Overbey and Thom Sesma. 

The all-Asian American cast includes Cindy Cheung (13 Reasons Why), Karl Josef Co (Pacific Overtures), Ali Ewoldt (The Phantom of the Opera), Diane Phelan (School of Rock), and Thom Sesma (Sweeney Todd). Steven Cuevas (Once On This Island) serves as music director.

CollaborAzian's production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder premiered last week on Broadway On Demand to wide success. The all-Asian American production of the Tony Award winning musical set to benefit the work of Stop AAPI Hate and has raised over $25,000 to date. 

The 12th Jimmy Awards ceremony will be available to watch online on Thursday, July 15th at 7:30PM ET. Fans can watch right here at BroadwayWorld. The ceremony, hosted by Corbin Bleu with a special appearance from Mandy Gonzalez, will be presented entirely online and remain available for viewing for 72 hours ONLY, through Sunday, July 18, 2021.

The Jimmy Awards have found their host for 2021! Broadway, film & television star Corbin Bleu will host the 2021 show which will be presented online on Thursday, July 15th at 7:30 PM.

Signature Theatre has announced a private reading of the new musical Big Country. The reading stars LaChanze (Broadway’s Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, The Color Purple) as Addie Moore and Terrence Mann (Broadway’s Tuck Everlasting, Pippin) as Louis Waters. The reading on June 11 is closed to the public.

Art Lab and ShowTown Productions have announced a special streaming presentation of BKLYN The Musical, available for three performances this June 4, 5, and 6. CollaborAzian, a new collective of Asian American producers, will present an abridged, virtual performance of the Tony Award-winning musical A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and will feature and all-Asian cast and crew. The production aims to uplift opportunities for AAPIs in theatre and net proceeds will support StopAAPIHate.org.

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival announced today performance dates and casting for its 2021 Summer Season, its final at Boscobel House and Gardens. The season will begin on June 24, 2021 with The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington by James Ijames, which will conclude on July 30.
